Solid pairing with a hearty, dense pasta ragu dish. This is rustic with cherry, gritty earth and some asphalt, but thankfully the tannins are fine and not drying. Good to very good wine and a solid by sub-$15.

Good pasta with ragu wine. Tannins are not gritty, but remain drying and I don't know that they'll fully resolve. Nice rustic cherry fruit. Straight package. Wants food. Conceals its 14.5% abv, I'd have guessed 13%. Decent QPR at $13 USD; in the upper teens there are better bottles.

Red cherries and strawberries, with an oak spice layer. Not terribly integrated. A medium bodied, mid-length wine that would serve a family spaghetti night well. It's not fancy, but serviceable.

They have been buying vineyards over the last 10 years. 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot. No oak, with the whole idea of this wine to be very easy drinking. The 20% of Merlot is because of clay soil with low elevation and with climate change its become very alcoholic and tannic and this makes it more smooth and round. Bought this wine as we are visiting the winery during a trip to Montepulciano. Pretty nice for a rosso. Looking forward to trying the Vino Nobiles while at the winery.

Medium ruby color. Nose of red berries and nut oil with a little funky earthiness. Medium bodied on the palate, juicy and friendly. Good midweek wine.

This comes off as quality wine, though also not exciting me a lot. There is nice red fruit framed with hard and tart mouthfeel. Pretty nose. Good, not great.

Montepulciano Tour; 4/10/2019-4/11/2019 : With a lot of baby fat and some heat as well, this blend of 80% Sangiovese – 20% Merlot is not singing to me at present. I might even say I'm a bit disappointed.

7 Days in Italy II; 2/17/2019-2/23/2019 : A Hot Hot vintage. April frost led to 50% lower yields in 2017. An atypical vintage of this wine with more body and concentration. 2015 started with optical sorter for Rosso and VN. A very suave nose. Waxy red and black fruit aromas. Light spice. Kind-a-dynamite.
