Bright strawberry and a hint of blueberry. Not too much alcohol, and light on the oak. For very over the hill, this actually seemed reasonable.

Just not very good. Well below how a good Zin should taste.

Split bottle escaped my detection forever. Pretty well spent. Light jammy flavor at the start but not much beyond. Finished well but without any significant notes. Okay but nothing of praise.

Get more if at World Market still. Pepper and peaking. Got better as it opened up. Transitioned from red berries to cherries.

A little earthiness on the nose; mellow on the palate at first with the tiniest kick at the end; berry comes through at various points.

A solid Zinfandel for the price. Lots of red berries and some pepper. High alchohol content, but it is well balanced by the fruit.

Thursday Night 5 for $5 (The Grapevine - Pocatello, ID) : Deep purple red. Very aromatic cherry, red fruit, and pepper. Medium body with fresh acid and very drying tannin. Red fruit and pepper on the palate, with a little hotness. Medium finish.

Much better than the last bottle... was it the mood or the food? Zin-tastic but not excessively sweet.... firm tannin but prominent fruit. More depth than the typical zin at this price range.

Drank it with Steve, fairly late one evening. Leaner and drier than last year's vintage. Not as enjoyable.

Light zin aroma, not special. A muted zinfandel.

Medium red color, sour cherry fruit, with pepper and spice. Also a hint of olives or capers on the finish. Very good, classic zin. Not over the top though.

Had this at Frisson with Mark, Monika and random postdoc candidate from Austria who wanted to try a characteristically California wine. An excellent specimen... exotic, rich, well-structured with a lot of depth, unusually so for a Zin at thiis price. Not as decadent as the label makes it appear, however.

One of the best years for this. The fruit really shows through this year, in a balanced, round wine with a good nose. Think $20 per bottle is a little high, though.
