Experience Trail 3150 Red

Ok, not as good as price and reviews indicated it should be. May have waited too long to drink. Moderate complexity with charcuterie variety, but nothing notable. New Year eve celebration. Happy New Year!

Stunning red alert! This is a wine that just keeps giving, but at 14.5% I’ll have to fight the urge to keep on drinking. Deep ruby colour, with very strong syrupy legs that hang for ages, almost like a port. The nose is fresh, vibrant and makes you want to dive right in. In the mouth, the balance is just perfect as are the tannins. Equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot, and you really get the benefit of each. …

Cherry, pomegranate molasses, prune, vanilla and graphite on the nose. Only semi-dry, thinner and sub-acid but actually still quite pleasant on the tongue with vanilla, cherry, black pepper, cola and dried fruits. I’m really liking this one, but I admittedly don’t prefer the balanced wines your average oenophile would pick, so there’s that.
