Was once a pretty good, inexpensive Bordeaux has now gone over the hill. Astringent & abrasive. Not pleasant at all. Left it in a decanter for 2 days just to see...it didn't help much.

On opening somewhat closed and even green on the palate. Opened somewhat after an hour. Much, much improved the 2nd night with complexity and mineral. Still lean but Very enjoyable.

Green pepper and ground pepper are showing up in this last bottle. Bricking was very evident. Fruits are still nice and strong and a nice heavy backbone is present. As it sits in the cellar this wine develops nicely. I would say it is approaching its peak....depending on how well you have stored it, plan up to 3 more years to the peak.

With the vintage being an average one, It's probably at its peak with not much fruit left and apparent aged flavour notes dominating the whole palate in a rough way; I am quite a fan of these aged notes and thus i find this an enjoyable night cap, but not sure if it's everyone else's cup of tea though

The wife loved this. I simply thought this was good. On the nose, there was lots of chocolate and spice. To taste, straight from the bottle this was quite faded and limp. It did fill out after 30 minutes and was much nicer with food. I do recommend a decant. The mrs found this extremely smooth, albeit I found some bitterness. This took time to open to its full potential. Upon opening up this displayed dark fruits and wet earth. Tannins subdued and an enjoyable wine.

WSET Level 2 Day 2 (WSET) : Appearance is clear, deep intensity, almost garnet colour. Nose is clean, pronounced, with classic Left Bank Bordeaux aroma, French oak and some spice. On the palate, medium acidity, lots of dry tannins, full body, and flavours of French oak and some vegetal notes. Fruits seemed to have faded. Long finish. No point ageing this any longer.

I've had two bottles in the last week and the wine is pretty consistent in those two bottles. The wine starts out with an an inital hot character that will mellow as it set but if the wine is left too long (over and hour) it begins to have a predominating aged/oxidized flavor that detracts from the wine. The finish has a light dry tannic note.

This bottle had some nice fruit on the nose and in taste. There is a bit of bite in the mid-palate and some nice dry tannin at the end. The wine loosens up nicely after being open for about and hour but a day later had gone down hill.

This is definately improving from the last bottle I popped over a year ago. Decanted for 30 minutes befire I started drinking it, but at the 45 min mark it was starting to open up. It is a fairly lean wine with tart fruit.

Dark garnet appearance. Blackberries, currants, plums, conifer, and spices on the nose. Similar flavors, with dark chocolate, cigar box, and a wisp of graphite on the medium finish. Well-integrated, medium-bodied, and balanced acidity. Very enjoyable and at its peak.

The color was a deep rose. The nose was tight to begin with and then loosened up showing off some nice bright fruit. The taste stayed tight for about 2 hours and it seemed thin initially but showed off some nice body and fruit with a touch of astringence. Finish was a bit oaky with smooth tannin
