Close to 11 years old and still very enjoyable; the acidity (raspberries) is very fresh and not hefty. With aeration the wine gained in complexity with minerals and more body; the balance is still ok, but don't wait with this bottle. Together with the '09 Puligny Les Enseignères from Olivier Leflaive and the '89 Domaine Bellegarde Cuvée Thibault, Jurançon it came from the very old and very authentic cellar of my friend Henk.

Final bottle of four, last enjoyed three years ago. Very dark and full bodied with an extremely opaque black color. Still very vibrant and drinking at, or close to peak. Enjoyed subsequent to the 2011 Domaine Vincent Paris Granit 30 which was young, and displayed lots of depth, feminine elegance, and spicy red fruits. A great "Old World" style Syrah with lots of "New World" nuances! Deep purple to black color, full bodied, tongue coating thick! Lots of asphalt and rubber on the nose, with spice box, and an underlying gaminess. Dark blackberry and blueberry on the palate underscored with vanilla.. Classy finish which many Aussie and Cali Syrahs don't deliver on.

A beautifully crafted wine. Very dark, full and opaque. A little gamey and slightly smokey on the nose, balanced with asian spice and toasty vanilla. Soft and mellow flavors of plums and blueberry that seem to dance on the palate all leading to a nice lingering finish of deep, black coffee. Un nez sur les violettes, les olives et les fraises poivrées...c'est très charmeur!!! En bouche beaucoup de framboises surets et du poivre à plein. La grande acidité de se vin peut nuire à certains palet mais j'ai trouvé ce vin très frais et minérale, manque un peu de profondeur et de longueur. La carafe aurait surement aider!!!

Very classy, thick, dark and full bodied. Sweet exotic spices with blueberry pie filling. Wine coats the mouth with sweet dark fruit with mild tannins and a soft touch of vanilla. Finishes with with great mouthfeel and a deep lingering taste.

Wow, after looking at the other tasting notes on this one, I am wondering if my bottle is flawed. It was extremely high in acid, and I believe that some of the acidity was of the volatile variety. This was hard to enjoy. I hope my remaining bottle shows better. I dumped my last glass of this one and I rarely do that !

Le vin est resté ouvert une semaine (!) et a tenu jusqu'à la dernière goutte avec une très belle évolution de ses aromes. Je pense qu'il a une belle garde devant lui et je me mets les 2 dernières bouteilles de coté pour voir ce qu'il adviendra.
