Drank with braised lamb shanks. Decanted for about an hour and this definitely improved the wine. Sweet, raisiny, but tannins were softer when the wine was allowed to aerate. Enjoyable but not the best Amarone I've tasted.

Drank after a '96 Barolo. First impression was that this was SWEET. Very concentrated ripe red fruits and raisins. Tannins were softer than I expected.

** Color: Garnet Aroma: Raisens, stewed prunes with some heat initiallu Flavor: Raisend, tar, leather with very dusty tannins This is a very simple Amarone, enjoyable, but not very complex and not in the league as some better known amarone producers Will it get any better? I'm not sure - perhaps the tannis wil soften and the raisen flavor will become more concentrated 88=(50+5+11+15+7)

Simply stated, this is a stereotypical big, rich Venetian red. Deep red color. Fruity nose with a backbone of oak. Full bodied with tons of ripe red fruit. Still relatively concentrated, with a dense palate of cherry and pepper. Rounded out by a dry earthy tannic structure. Good value. With a bit of age on it now, this basic Amarone has turned out quite nice. Everything you should expect from an Amarone, and then some.
