Based on our previous bottle one year ago, we decanted this bottle for 15 minutes to separate out some sediment and to allow the wine to open. The TN for this bottle is very similar to that previous bottle -- dark fruits, earth, spice, balancing acidity and resolved tannins -- but with a bit less fruitiness and a bit more earthiness - a not unexpected sign of aging. Still very enjoyable but with a shorter drink window.

A deep, dark, brooding version of Grenache that you might mistake for a Syrah. It needs decanter time to open, and to separate out some sediment. A deep violet color in the glass. Lots of dark fruits and some earth on the nose. These dark fruits - blackberry, blackcurrant, black cherry, raspberry - carry over on to the medium plus bodied palate along with a good dose of spice, some earth, and a touch of licorice. Superb! Big taste of blackberry with white pepper. The Syrah is the top note, but the Grenache is the balance to keep it from being overpowering. Full mouth feel and sustained finish. Soft tannins and very light tar. Great food wine. Extremely drinkable by itself and with food. Paired well with grilled salmon, asparagus, and ripe blackberries. The bottle barely lasted through dinner for two.

This still can safely age a bit more. Great taste. Deep dark fruit-blackberry and raspberry, with a nice bit of pepper on the finish. Full mouth feel and long legs. We'll try the next bottle in a year or more.

Short decant, minimal sediment. Just below room temp this is a fantastic melange of fruit and earthy meaty notes. CdP on steroids. The heat is there but still so good. Drink now or over next year or so; everything in place.

Really good right after opening with all elements in perfect harmony. White pepper, milk chocolate, black cherries, and glycerin. Big and sweet but not over the top with alcohol properly buried/integrated. Drink in the next 1-3 years.

Wow, this is beautiful stuff! Strawberries, merge into chocolate covered cherries, with some smokey notes. Sweet but present tannins. Really lovely; bold but not overpowering.

Young and Early to open but I had to try. Really amazing intensity without being over the top, extracted Black Berry Liquor, five spice, licorice, tar, squid ink and some toasted oak. Hides the alcohol well and is VERY enjoyable going way too fast. Doesn't have the most complex mid-finish but it's damn good.
