Largely consistent notes here - the color was a bit darker than the last bottle. A bit of maturity beginning to set in. Still - a killer Spatlese bone dry with loads of orchard fruit and plenty of fresh acidity. 93

This is evolving from my previous bottle. Less fireworks but more nuance. Petrol, spices, minerals, white flowers. Searing acidity. These are just so good and well made. Gone in minutes....

Fantastic. So much going on in the glass. Minerals, fruits, spices. Loads and loads of tropical fruit notes just wafting from the glass. Young and precise. Very enjoyable.

Deep golden color consistent with its age, but, while mature in profile, this fortunately was not overly oxidised. Petrol on the nose. On the palate, a nice balance of acid and mineral against a very light fruit sweetness. Probably between a 91-92 but I'll round up given it surprised me (on the upside) and has a very good QPR.

This was great, lots of slate and dusty minerals, citrus on the nose, juicy crisp clean palate with a nice finish

Whatever was missing in my last bottle in 2017 is back now in spades. Spatlese in name, but nothing here could be recognized as sweetness. There is an umami richness, bitter crunchy unripe apricot, great acid.

Fairly advanced in color (golden). Nose of gingerbread, apricot skins, grapefruit pith. Lighter in the mouth than I was expecting, with just a bit more concentration needed to bring this to the next level. Finish is excellent, with good acidity and an intense return to grapefruit pith. Strong nose and finish makes the mid palate come across as a touch hollow at first, but once I get used to it, it bothers me less. With airtime the acidic bitter finish …

Feels like this is fading a bit relative to my last bottle. Still has the nice apricot pit, lemon zest zing; but missing that super intriguing umami, saline thing.

Enjoyable wine. Nice nose of burnt orange and deep yellow color. Not overly complex and doesn't have a very long finish. Very nice acidity makes this a great food compliment

Very nice wine. Nice complexity and maturity without oxidation. Deep yellow color. A bit short on the finish.

Dinner in Orlando (Robert's House) : This was a really good bottle of Riesling. Beautiful nose of lychee, pear, stone, & peach. Palate was supple, rich, & deep...luckily, it had nice acidity to balance the sweetness. Lovely.

Subdued nose - a tiny bit of apple and spice. Palate is tart with some spices. The acid is good but it is not framing much - a little pear, a little apple. Just not much going on. Nose - 3-3.5/6, Palate - 4.5/6, Finish - 4/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 0.5-1/2 = 12-13/20.

Serious petrol on the nose when I opened the bottle which dissipated mostly over an hour or so. Beautiful old Riesling - umami flavors with honeysuckle and melon behind it, even at this age good acid and a long finish. Went great with porccetta and fennel salad.

Rich and sweet fruit, hint of honey, not the greatest minerally definition but a pleasant and complete wine.
