After 12 years, in this somewhat cooler and less reputed vintage one can taste the master’s touch. A clear amber color, a very intense aldehydic, Sherry-like nose (I can even smell this wine with my olfactory organ up to 30cm above the glass),bone-dry on the palate with an exemplary balance between curry, rancid butter 😏, oxidative tones and pronounced acidity followed by a final of more than 1 minute. A surprising letdown. Not faulty, but may be a poorly stored bottle or bottle variance. Amber toward gold in color, clear. Quite closed on the nose. Cellared apples dominates. The mouthfeel is where it still wins. Full-bodied with an impressive nerve. The fruit concentration is impressive, mature with baked and yellow apples, baked lemon, some dried apricot. Looking forward to trying a more optimal bottle.
