Koncentrerad äppelmust, mandelmassa och integrerade funky toner. Med luftning knyts noterna ihop bättre. Bra nu, men den blir nog bättre med tiden.

A revisit three years later. A lot has happened. Developed, generous with overripe apple, some sherry and liquorice on the nose. Beneath that there is some bitter almonds, roasted nuts and white flowers. Mature and rich on the palate. Good body. Drinking well now.

(Disgorged in September 2016, 30% Pinot noir, 20% Pinot meunier, 50% Chardonnay from 30-35 years old vines) Yellow colour with a stream of bubbles that lead way for the young nose of bread and yeast that dominates at first, but with time it opens up showing a nuttiness and sweeter tropical notes in an interesting way. Muted upon opening, almost completly closed. Some pears and almonds on the nose. Maybe white flowers in the back somewhere. On the palate the wine is calm and easy with smooth, juicy pear-dominated structure followed by some grape fruit bitterness. Long and elegant finish with slight hints of lemon juice. On day two the wine developed a pleasant creamy mousse. The bitter acid is replaced by fat, slushy fruit. My wife enjoyed this more now than when first opened. I …
