The Nearly Annual Lyon 10 Year Retro Tasting #24, Wines of Washington (Lyon Again, Eugene, OR) : Nice contrast to the Champagne before it. Red berries tossed with citrus and pear. Hints of toast and minerals, but it's all about the fruit. Drink up.

Drank at my 71st birthday. Second sparkle of evening. First was a Nicol Vineyards BC Brut with high acidity. The California wine felt much softer, no sharp edges. Went well with Caesar Salad. Nice, appealing strawberry fruit.

Brilliant. Crisp, bubbly, pinot noir based sparkler. Fave at the moment!

Strawberry with crisp clean finish. Great blend of slight sweetness, tight bubbles and good acidity.

Tasty but would definitely be better with additional bottle aging. Wish I would have held it longer to develop more creamy texture.

Brilliant wine to enjoy at any time. Copper color with active bubbles. Magnificent fruit and crispness. Can't appreciate the earlier tasting notes minimizing the quality and enjoyment of this wine.

Decanted and enjoyed immediately. Simple, soft, subtle, which is to say that it lacks the crispness I prefer. But as a starter wine, or with a mid-week salad at home, this is perfectly serviceable. Not something I would buy as I can get more satisfaction from a cremant rosé in several regions in France, typically at about 1/3 less than this. 12,0% abv. Served non-blind; drink or hold for up to 5 years.

A perfect summer sipper. Balanced, silky, and a nice interplay of creamy and crisp. Light strawberry, peach, citrus, and just a touch of cream. Served in a large BDX glass, which I have come to prefer for the service of sparkling wine, as it allows for more fruit flavors to emerge instead of using a flute, which only narrowly allows the CO2 to be the primary element emitting from the glass. This wine was perfect in the larger vessel, as …

Just an outstanding wine. Light berry flavor, only slightly acidic with apple notes and a great finish.

A really refreshing rose' sparkler that has great balance, a bit of sweetness while remaining dry, and a great finish. A fine, surprising, enjoyable summer celebration drinker. Ole'

Very nice for an autumn brunch on the patio. Pairing with a butternut squash, pear, and blue cheese salad.
