Nose of dark fruit and baking spice and supple leather. Palate of dark fruit with a note of tobacco. Velvety tannins and sharp, clean acidity. Burnt vanilla on the finish. Pleasant wine, would try again…however the Wife finds this to be unpleasantly salty…so no re-buy.

Pronounced aromas of black plum, mulberry, ripe blackberry, all spice, cinnamon, incense, oak, leather, coffee grinds. Pronounced palate. Full body, medium acidity, medium tannins, medium (+) finish.

Perfume nose. Smooth mouthfeel. Deep. Beautiful wine. Not complex, meaning little variation from initial entry on the tongue to swallow by the throat, but what is imbibed is wonderful, is delicious. Will buy again.

Second bottle of this vintage. Dark fruit, spice and a little smokiness. Fuller side of medium bodied. Drinking well now with a short decant. Enjoyable wine though not special. Went well with a steak with a marinade including garlic. Would buy again.

This bottle came off as flabby and tired. My first bottle was precise and balanced and beautiful. Paired with bbq lambchops. The BC Burrowing Owl Merlot paired beautifully. Hoping that this was just a dud bottle.

Enjoyed in Hickory NC at restaurant Fourk with an old friend of 50 years who is increasingly into wine. Excellent young high altitude old vine malbec, good QPR and definitely recommend. A definite cut above an entry level wine. Drink or hold, still very youthful but already approachable and drinking well with a decade to go with proper aging.
