12,5% alcohol. Pale, translucent ruby red color. Weird, somewhat mute and rather aldehydic nose with aromas of apple juice, some acetaldehyde notes of green apple slices, a little bit of pear peel, light sappy notes of herbal greenness, a hint of cranberry and a touch of earth. Overall the wine seems to have taken some hits along the way. The wine feels medium-bodied, thin and rather mute on the palate with somewhat green-toned flavors of tart lingonberries, some tangy green …

Dark fruit with still present tannins and some tartness. Rather rustic style.

Even better than the last bottle I drunk a couple of weeks ago. Earthy. This definitely benefited from being decanted, taming the high acidity.

This bottle drunk like a Chénas with an iodine-and-dirt quality to it, berry smells, a slightly milky texture. Very good. The taste was more stemmy than a bottle of the 2012 vintage drunk a couple of months ago in a restaurant.

Clearly well made wine but not tons of interest or pleasure for me here. I think this would have been better with some hearty food (I had it with a very light dinner). Keep in mind with this note that I drink very little Italian wine and of the Italian wine I drink, it is almost all …

Pretty nose of light berries, floral notes, with a touch of acetone that softened with air. Had a nice, inviting palate with more berries, subtle earth, and a good deal of acidity on the finish.

Lovely nose, quite Burgundian with dark cherry and mineral. The palate is a little tough. Dark fruits dominate along rough coal notes with a hint of balsamic. Not as pretty and elegant as the 2008 that I had a few months ago, it probably needs another year or so to get together. Still one of the very few Dolcetto worthy to drink.
