Rolly Gassmann, Riesling Rorschwihr Yves Vendanges Tardives

Once coaxed from the glass the nose reveals notes of lemon, melon, dried peach, apricot, honey, and oyster shell. Not as much sweetness as I expected - the searing acidity gives it a gorgeous freshness. Intense concentration of fruit, mineral and floral notes. Lovely long finish. Certainly not a dessert wine - this is one for savouring with soft cheeses or roast chicken.
