Last tasted in 2018 and it still tastes amazing to me. Lots of red fruit with a bit of spice. Very full mouthfeel and excellent clean aftertaste. It's still going strong.

Complex, broad with bright red fruit, umami and some floral notes. Wild and brambly. Some warm spices as well, Indian or Chinese. Very much a product of natural winemaking with the hallmarks of wild yeast. Really interesting and fun to drink. Everything integrated. Drinking well now and really seems like it'll be good for at least 5 years.

Nose of earth, incense, blood, and iron — it started out a little dark and murky but opened up some. Lots of dark fruit on the palate, blackberries, baking spice. I agree with others, that while good, there’s not a ton that surprises. Full bodied, high tannins, medium acid. Not unctuous but definitely big. Good but didn’t speak to me a ton.

Medium purple color with lifted blackberry, black cherry liqueur, chapparal, vanilla, licorice, dried herb and black pepper aromas. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with leavening bright acidity and well integrated suave tannins with ripe black cherry and blackberry, vanilla, licorice, herb and black pepper flavor with an appealing hint of graphite flavors. Long finish. 14.5% abv

Wow. We drank the 2014 and then the 2015 over sequential evenings. Both are drinking beautifully right now as long as you decant them and give them the time, space, and air they need to come into their own. Full, luscious, well-balanced wines with just the right amount of age. Both will be good for years to come, and both were absolutely delicious with red sauce dishes.

[Brought by Steve & Barb South to dinner at Chez Mike. Open for maybe an hour before we poured it.] Lovely nose of black fruit and spice. Big and rich in the mouth, but with just the right balance. Classic Bedrock Heritage blend. Plenty of life left but drinking quite well now, esp. with a ribeye steak.

Just didn’t find this to be one of the more enjoyable single vineyard zins from Bedrock. Seemed angular, if that makes sense. I’ve had a couple other wines from this vineyard and I guess it’s just not my thing. Always decent but never special.

There was a nice strawberry note and it was relatively light bodied with decent acid and resolved tannins (so, easy to drink). But overall was a little plain, boring, maybe with some minor flaws/storage issues. I liked it and it isn't a jam bomb (of course Bedrock doesn't really make those) but can't say much more than that.

Good structure, vibrancy, and balance. Not a fruity style Zin, more modest and distinctive. Nice crunch on the finish. One of the best from Bedrock.

6 hour decant. Complete different experience than last bottle. Beautiful dark brooding fruits, with nice lift from perfect acid. A unique interplay between the Grenache and Syrah for a Bedrock heritage wine.

Nose of black cherry, allspice, and hints of dusty earth, same on the palate, mediun/big body, rich and ripe fruit, smooth, easy to savor with or without food, paired with roasted chicken and a touch of Jack Daniel's BBQ Sauce, delicious together, fairly fruit forward so no decant nor cellar time needed, long finish, lovely aftertaste. Gave this about 4 hours of air. Opened up ok, nice blue fruit in addition to the fat/olive/etc of the Syrah shining through. Can feel the heat a little bit and just can’t tell how it’s going to integrate any further. Have one left I’ll open in a number of years to see what happens.

Big and a little clunky. Nose of cooked blueberry, spice cake and olive tapenade with rosemary, wet cement and soy jerked beef. In the mouth dense black fruit and cold strong coffee with molasses and tires on hot blacktop. Full bodied with soft to OK acid and firm but powdery tannin. per back label: Planted in the 1880s. High elevation, tended by Jake and Scot Bilbro. Violet burgundy with some translucence. Nose plummy black cherry with hints of chocolate, floral. Poured through an Aervana. Black fruits on the nose. Red and black fruits in a full mouthfeel. Lots of softer grippy red fruits, compared to Syrah. Finishes on a blacker fruit note and lots of grip on a longer finish. With all the varietals, this is just so well balanced. How do they do it? Night two notes are almost the same. Held up very well! I would agree that this tastes more Zinfandel than Syrah.

This still needs time or a looong decant. Eric Guido’s note was spot on except that I would add this is still super tannic. A ton of structure on this which should lead to improvement for several years.

Decanted for two hours. Bright fruit (strawberry) on nose and initial taste, but darker deeper fruit take over mid palate along with firm tannins. Good finish. Not quite as complex as some of the Bedrock wines, but still very good.

This might be the best Bedrock I have tasted. A little misleading in that CT identifies this as a Syrah blend but the bottle doesn't mention Syrah. They just call it "red wine". Going to the Bedrock site they call it a field blend with five grapes with Syrah being one, with no percentages. Crimson in color. 14.5% ABV. Tremendous nose of black fruits, cocoa powder, earth and pepper. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Fresh, vibrant and firmly in the Claret style Zinfandel camp. Black cherry, blackberry, salmonberry and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Less polished and more rustic, but in a good way. Absolutely delicious. Best over the next 2-4 years.

Golly, I had no idea what I was drinking. Stellar wine for sure. Oh...it's Syrah? Really. Hmmm. I'd call this an outstanding, satisfying wine a field blend, but I don't know (or really care) how much of this bottle consists of Syrah grapes or some other wonderful varietals. This is delicious with or without food. Wonderful! I gave this a 92 but honestly, the points don't matter and 92 is probably on the low side.

As other CT reviewers have stated, it was delicious, it was nuanced, it did have a bunch of red fruit flavors along with some wonderful sweet undertones, but it just didn't "wow" us.

This is a really good blend.. more refined then the typical Bedrock blend. Would pair well with roast pork I think. There’s a lot of secondary flavors there, round black cherry and herb notes.
