Henri Boillot Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet

Decanted for 1.5 hr. Initially very closed on the nose with ripe yellow fruit on the palate. With more time, the acidity started to grow in the glass with more salty minerals. This will need at least 5-6 years to enter its drinking window. 91-92

Very tight but very good. Seriously rocky with pure orchard fruits that are dense and sappy. There’s a touch of vanilla and barrel toast and it is a wine that really builds through the palate. Needs a few years but should be special.

2013 Grand Cru Horizontal tasting (Prince Wine Store, Bank Street, Melbourne) : medium minus intensity aromas but with time revealing slightly dusty (dirty glass?) muted peach and sweet spice, touches of butter. Juicy and slight tart stone fruit is joined by buttery notes and a certain wet fleshiness. Some drying front of mouth grip. Hmm
