Weird. Not as memorable as the first bottle. Much like a shut down phase. Pleasant enough with spicy food. Decent petrol, White florals and a massive apple, citrus and tropical fruit blend meshed with acidity. I guess it could be called grapey as well which I don’t really associate with decent Riesling. I think I would hold these another few years. It could just be a dull period. It happens.

This was quite fat and oily in its texture. It was also quite sweet and pushing the edge for a spatlese. It also had balancing acidity and a distinct note of saline. Loads of honey and ripe melon on the palate as well. This was enjoyed with spicy Thai food so the sweetness was an asset.

This was a very impressive spatlese. Honey and floral notes on the nose. Agree with previous reviewers that this wine was bigger and richer than many Mosel spatleses. Impeccably well balanced, with a soft lingering finish. Aromas of mineral/slate, peach, citrus, and pear. Plenty of acidity here to keep up with the perceived sweetness, but balanced so there is no puckering and I never had to reach for a glass of water while consuming this bottle. Vibrant and long finish, with a little complexity... and mouth watering. Paired very well (yet almost overpowered) mahi-mahi with an Asian peach salsa.

Picked this up at Costco. A very nice riesling but for my palate still inferior to the Poet's Leap rieslings out of WA. Great complexity but a little too sweet for my liking. Good minerality and multiple dimensions with some very nice fruit. Awesome QPR if you like your riesling this sweet.

Very fine Riesling. Citrus and petrol aromas, tastes of pear, apple, citrus and mineral. Flavors are integrated and complimentary. Good length as well.

This was an enjoyable wine... BUT, the sweetness was not properly balanced by acidity. It was not syrupy, but the sweetness was pronounced and the acidity insufficient to give it that crisp tingly effervecense that makes good Rieslings so great. So a nice drinker, but target $20-25

The color is light golden and clear with slow running, thick legs. There are some citrus and pear aromas with a hint of clean gasoline. The tastes are lime, pear, honey, granny smith apple and the long finish brings sweet spices. This still wine has some body.

2010 German Riesling Spätlese Blind Tasting (Beautiful Wines, Singapore) : Not too far stretched to guess this as a Riesling from Wehlener Sonnenuhr. From the slatey nose to the characteristic "soft" structure of the vineyard, this is as silky and feminine a Mosel gets. The extract is definitely not sufficient to buffer the searing acidity. A distinct (and distracting) lemon juice acid pokes out at the finish. Not really enjoyable but thumbs up for the distinctiveness.
