Such a good spot right now. Still a nice streak of acidity too.

Decanted for over an hour. Aromas of blackberry, currant, sweet cherry, plum and lead pencil. Flavors of blackberry, currant, cherry, hint of smoke and melted chocolate. Ends with a 35+ second finish with blackberry and chocolate notes. The smoke didn’t appear to be smoke taint to me. This is very good for the vintage.

Complexity on the nose with less on the palate. A very nice full bodied wine with a chewy finish. Well done!

Dark red color with significant bricking on the rim. Nose primarily shows leather on open, but showed more cedar after an hour of air. Palate shows dried cherries, star anise, and eucalyptus (similar to the 1992 Chappellet Merlot). Acidity is still really nice on this wine, and tastes on the lighter side of medium bodied. Tannins fully resolved. Probably a bit past its peak, but still drinking nicely.

Decanted 1 hr initially, drank over a couple more. Nose opens up more at hour 2, some tar, dark fruits, with a leathery background, an ever so slight cedar background and greenhouse aromas developing over time. High alcohol, relatively fine, but certainly present tannins, primary dark fruits, faint bitter note on the finish, but a decent Napa everyday drinker. Maybe another year or two would help, but fine right now.

Had this with prime rib, paired well. Decanted for an hour and opened well from initial taste. Excellent bouquet of black currant, blackberry are primary with some secondary oak, subtle earthy or mint note which is nice. Excellent wine and excellent value!

Ordered off the wine list at Level 2 Steakhouse in Branson. According to WineSpectator, 2022 wasn't such a great year for Napa so good to drink them young! In any case, can't go wrong with Chappellet Signature. Ordered to pair with a double cheese burger. Went well. Classic Cabernet notes. If opening up now, it does need an hour or two to open up. Cheers!

Enjoyed at Aldo Sohm in NYC. All the hallmarks of quality Napa Cab. Dark cherry, dark plum, red and blue fruits, graphite. 2022 not the best vintage, but still enjoyable and approachable after an hour in the decanter. 90 points.

This '22 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon was shared at our wine tasting at Chappellet on top of Pritchard Hill. A huge thanks for the Chappellet team for the property and vineyard tour - great to see such a well-known Estate up close and hear the story. Tasting notes black plum, black fruits, somewhat raisin like toward the finish, oak spice, milk cocoa, and scorched tobacco. This wine is representative of the vintage - more stewed/scorched fruits and a tad warm & …

This was a lovely wine. Just in the right spot. Nice balance of fruit and tannins. Good dark color. Decadent pairing with rib eye. Good right out of bottle. Wish I had more. Will hold another 1-2 years but great now too.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (76%), Petit Verdot (9%), Malbec (6%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Merlot (4%) harvested between September 8th and October 15th. Aged in French oak barrels, typically from 18 to 22 months. 14,5% alcohol, 6,1 g/l acidity and pH 3,78. Fully opaque and slightly evolved blackish-red color. The nose feels fragrant, sweetish and somewhat evolved with aromas of dark fruits, some wizened blackcurrants, light licorice tones, a little bit of toasty oak spice, sweeter hints of caramel …

This is a wine that should not have been made unless it came with the warning, pull cork, up-end and swill fast! I got this as a last bottle mystery wine and still feel ripped off. Do not decant, dear lard it won't go anywhere good and while I don't know how to identify smoke taint unless it's overt there is just something really off on the nose. Don't worry though with a few hours of air the palette goes …

This '22 'Signature Cabernet Sauvignon' from Chappellet was served at the Napa Valley Vintner event in Fort Worth Texas. All of my tasting notes will have more limited descriptors as a lot of the time spent at the tables was spent talking/catching up. I will include some vintage nuances at the bottom of each note. Tasting notes of big and broad shouldered black fruits, black cherry, cassis. This bottle seemed to get scarred by the vintage a bit. Stylistically, this …

You know it right off the PnP, strength but not overpowering, lush, well integrated tannin, good with food or in its own, distinctively Napa but a great representation of a tasteful effort from the region.

Did anyone see the clips of the Mylie Cyrus meet and greet where fans were shouting, “We thought this was a concert! Are you even gonna sing?!” Yeah….that was this wine. High expectations, and a slightly disappointing experience. The nose on this was CRISPY. Bright black fruits, oak, and a rich butteriness. Full body, medium acidity, and big tannins…..but it all fell off a cliff. Thelma and Louise style. The palate was balanced, with ripe currants harmonizing with kisses of …

Bought from a discount house and am surprised of the quality. Decanted for about an hour, should have done a little longer. Not as oaky as I thought it would be. Nice nose, not too heavy of friut. Recommend decanting at least 3 hours Nice finish as to say not a sharp knife going down your throat LOL

More approachable than I would have expected. Decanted while enjoyed over ~4 hrs. Initial notes of darker fruits led way to some redder fruit. Not too much oak treatment apparent. Slight violet / floral notes, but quite muted. Picked up a bit of smokiness, but more like you would find in a Syrah than as an actual fault. I found it to be lighter and thinner than I would have expected.

Deep, dark purple, this has alluring aromas of graphite, Bing cherries, coffee bean, and spices. Tastes of cassis, sour cherries, blackberry compote, and chocolate, with a long, mouthcoating finish. This is full bodied, bold, and rich, with juicy acidity and smooth, silky tannins. Overall impression—a beautiful display of dark fruit that is balanced and well integrated. Rich yet elegant. My kind of Cabernet!

After finishing off the bottle of Yacochuya malbec (see my sa me-day note), there was still more tasty grilled meats on the table, so I went in a different direction. I popped and poured a predominantly (75%) cabernet blend grown on Pritchard Hill by one of my favorite Napa producers, the Chappellet family, who make a consistently excellent Signature series cab. Another enjoyable mouthful of delicious red wine from winemaker Phillip Corallo-Titus that IMO has at least 10 years of …

I was concerned that I had waited too long for this one, but it was one of the best bottles we've had. 14 years, and it is still solid. Smooth tannins, excellent flavor...as expected with the age, the color was not as robust as their younger cabs. We should have used the Coravin on it, because the profile changed rather quickly. With air, it turned quite spicy on the tongue within 30-45 minutes after pouring with a cork reinserted. It …

Opened to pair with a lovely prime filet tonight. Really lovely wine. Really firing on all cylinders now. Beautiful dark black fruits, spices and touch of tobacco on the initial taste. Tannins are well integrated now to give nice finish. Surprised how much this one has evolved since our initial tasting of it at the winery several years back.
