Surprisingly good. After decanting & sitting for 1.5 hours it opened up was still showing strawberries, smooth tannins, medium legs & went extremely well w a rib eye steak. Again I'll say shocked! This was part of a purge of over the hill wines & this one survived as now did 5 of its brothers.

Raspberry, cherry, and lavender on the nose and palate. Medium finish. Drinking very nicely.

Hate to pile on (after the last review), but this wine isn't in good shape anymore. Out of balance, almost port-like on the nose, and mostly not enjoyable. Could be a bad bottle, but nobody who tasted found a "flaw".

PNP. Deep red and black color. Nose shows decayed cherry with some sweetness, a medicinal element and a bit of heat. The 14.9% alcohol throws the balance off. Ripe robust black fruits on the palate with a bit of cherry cough syrup like texture and heat. Big and out of balance.

I meant to open the 2001 but accidently grabbed this one out of the cellar and had the cork pulled before I realized it. This was the most intense of the 6 bottles that I originally had. Almost painfully intense and certainly needed many more years of aging contrary to what others here have written. Again perfect cork and fill almost to the cork. Medium red color, the mostly red fruit aromas were noticeable across the kitchen as soon as it was opened, plenty of matching fruit on palate, tannins fully integrated, slight acidity, long finish. Went well with Alaskan King salmon.

From a pristinely cellared bottle, Dehlinger's 2005 Goldridge Pinot is holding up beautifully. Medium garnet and teeming with red fruit, it adds complimentary notes of ginger snap cookies, anise and cocoa. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic and with nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%), it is soft-textured by virtue of its silky tannins and well-woven oak. Solid on the mid-palate and finishing long, this has aged surprisingly well. Comparably cellared bottles should provide pleasure for another three years or more. Drink now-2023.

Clean cork; decanted shortly before serving with a small amount of sediment in the bottle. Medium garnet color in the glass. Mature, moderate aromas of dried red cherry, raspberry, rose petal and roasted meat/leather. The palate is similar in structure, with more red cherry, black cherry, prune and plum. Bottle appeared to have been well stored as evidenced by only 2mm or so coloration from wine at end of cork. Nose initially indicated that this was past its prime, however it improved somewhat with air over the next 45 minutes. Dehlinger certainly makes pinots that can age. This one is still singing, its cherry/cranberry fruit still strong13 years in. But, the complexity is what makes the wine lovely, with baking spice notes, earth, and a finish that holds.

Holding spectacularly well at 13 years, if a bit brick in color. Plenty of deep cherry fruit and baking spice. Luscious on the palate and lingering finish.

Very good pinot, red cherries, savory, and some underlying structure. I usually prefer the estate pinot, buy this was nice. Dehlinger has never disappointed!

Tasted in double-blind fashion from a bottle provided by A.P., this light-to-medium garnet wine is a pleasure to drink. The perfumed nose offers aromas of cranberries, lavender, cocoa and dried herbs. Light-to-medium-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%) and with melted tannins, it goes on to deliver flavors which mirror the nose. The middle stays solid and the finish is medium-to-long. Fully mature, this will likely be at its best over the next couple of years. Drink now-2016.

Light crimson in color. 14.5% ABV. Great aromas of red fruits, baking spice and citrus. Light body and medium to high acidity. Cranberry, cherry, orange rind, brown sugar and mineral on the palate. This improved over the 5 hours the bottle was open, developing some richness and complexity. Cloves and cinnamon in the nose. Typical RRV profile. Drink last bottle in 2015.

My last of these and the best bottle so far. The wine was simply delicious with great balance, loads of fruit and subtle notes of earth and smoke. Wish I had more of this to follow. Dehlinger wines always seem to age gracefully and deliver the goods for really great prices.

Brick red throughout. 14.9% ABV. Intense aromas of candied cherries and spice. Strawberries, baking spice, clove, cherries, rhubarb and citrus on the palate. There is just a touch of VA (volatile acidity) on the wine which I don't remember from previous bottles. The finish is extremely long and spicy. I have a few more bottles in the cellar and will likely wait at least a year or so before I revisit this wine.

Dehlinger never dissapoints. Whereas other, more expensive Pinots, from the nearby region,mmany going by the wayside after 6 yrs, they seem to last 10 yrs or more, seamlessly. I enjoyed an '02 just last week. Anyway, this wine leaned to the dark red, even a hint of blueberry, violets, and even some earth and wood, continuing to a med long finish. Alcohol, fruit, and tannins allperfectly integrated and balanced. Glad I have one more bottle.

Showing age but in a good way. Nice black cherry fruit, a touch sweet. Cola, cranberry and a little orange peel. Acidity on the wane so I I'd drink soon. Last bottle for me.

14.5% alc ~ purchased upon release. Decided to pull a mixed case from my locker. 2004 vs 2005 is like night and day. The 05's are a little lighter, more fruit forward, higher in acid, tart and have a sweeter component. I prefer the balance of the 04's at this stage in the game.

Medium ruby colored; profoundly aromatic with cherries, red berries, spice; palate light bodied, white pepper, cooking spices, red fruits, medium-high acidity; finish is very fruity, some sweet spice. Overall an excellent wine, but is showing more simple fruit and less secondary complexity than I would expect from Dehlinger. Wait until mid-late 2013 for my last bottle. 90-91

These have opened up and are drinking beautifully now. These were very awkward early on but have change significantly with bottle time. Had this one with the 2002 Reserve and while not nearly as good it still showed very well.

Terrific wine. Lots of nice red fruit balanced by acidity and tannins. Lovely to drink and sniff. We had it with an angel hair pasta dish with EVOO and tomatoes, etc. And it went perfectly. Sorry to have drunk my last bottle. These are refined, elegant wines that still say CA.
