Rich, very sumptuous mouthfeel, dark and inviting, soft without any hint of flabbiness.

Paso Robles Rhone Rangers (Broken Earth Winery) : dark red body, slight brown rim, in the color. pepper, floral, dark berry, wet soil, on the nose. pepper, dark berry, saline, oak, burnt wood, match stick, blueberry, licorice, on the palate. medium acid, medium tannins, on the finish.

Barrel sample - ripe red tree fruit, deep smoked wild game, big white oak note - unfinished so it could climb above my initial rating here.
