Decent wine that carries over nicely to day 2. At first the nose was a bit off, but that cleared. Good wine w pasta dish

I opened a couple of this delicious Tuscan wine for an Italian night. I expected that guests would drink a couple of glasses however, it muched the taste of all the party guests that at the end we nearly consumed my cellar holding of a box. In terms of timing of opening the bottle I can only recommend: perfect. It is now the time to enjoy this wine. You might have a window for another couple of years, but it …

Dusty Merlot notes...I have not had one of these in a while!! Dark berry - blueberry and ash more specifically. Initial grip welcomed, but there is no decant required for this one either - just sip, eat, and spin! Violet, floral - perfume notes in the direction of lavender. Evolving into brambleberry, huckleberry, saskatoon berry on the palate. Significant concentration and rich sweet tobacco and barn. Maybe manure. Intriguing tertiary profile, but really a more elegant wine of fruit notes …

Blackberry, tea, and possible sweet sage with deeper tastes of black current, mint and some earthy notes. Drinks a lot like Bordeaux, but with a touch of Italian funk, leather and a bit of barn. Just a bit. Violet, "burly" and a bit jammy. Forward. Thought I picked up on some dark cherry/ brandy expressions - but really this wine is defined by it's dark fruit "chutney" profile which tends to predominate. This wine would go great with lamb or …

Very good. Nice dark rich zippy red cab fruits with pretty sweet core from ripe Merlot, Served blind group was very impressed. Clearly beat a 1989 La Consaillete Pommerol served along side.

Round with ripe fruit and tannin. Easy drinking forward style. Lots of Merlot influence. Leather and inky notes with blackberry and plummy jammy fruit. Lacks structure and grip.

Pleasant wine. Need decanting at least 30-40 min. Typical toscan flavors and nose.

Once again - this is really well made. Very clear and distinct structure and precision. Type wise this is a sort of new world Bordeaux blend with little Italian characteristics. Notes of tobacco and cedar. Good fruity mouth feel with cassis and slightly peppery and dry aftertaste. Seems to have closed down a bit since my last bottle. Not that it feels oldoe declining, but I wonder if it will come back better or simply shut down?

Soft, smooth, cherry, cedar and cocoa. Very good. My only complaint is that the cork was practically welded into the bottle. I have never experienced a cork that was so difficult to remove.

A bit closed at this time in my opinion. It has promising elements but just not expressive. I will hold the remaining bottles for now.

Pleasant nose of herbs, violets, mocha, and cherry, with tertiary graphite, vanilla, and spice. Perfectly at peak with exquisite balance of fruity sweetness, ripe acidity, and delicate tannin. More new world than old in style; I would have guessed Napa in a blind tasting. It's not the most intense or lengthy red but a delight nonetheless.

Light body and texture, however still possesses sweet and acidic fruit, mellow tannins and traces of oak. Just a hair too light and sweet for my tastes but appreciate the fact it was not heavily oaked.

nice surprise for an '04 Cab based wine from Tuscany. Many are still and forever green. Vanilla and creamy softness on the first taste and ripe fruit with a pleasant red berry middle. this was the perfect day to taste this one!

A little over the hill. Dark with vanilla bean, leather and earthy cola. Dried out. Celery root, dried wood tannin with a distinct salty note on the short finish. Should of consumed this about 4 years ago, it was probably quite good.

Dark ruby core lightening to cherry red at the rim. Sweet nose with fig newton, rosemary, leather and spice. Still really fresh and vibrant. Great balance. Sandalwood, minerals and plumbs on a medium finish. Lingering chewy tannins. Interesting and gaining. Still lots in the tank here.

Great nose of blackberry and cherry. Didn't decant and didn't really need it. This was drinking nicely, not much complexity but very easy to drink. On the third day this is still drinking well. Not sure this will improve much but very nice now.

Deep purple, almost no rim. Medium developing aromas of black cherries, menthol, leather, vaseline (no not the soap on my hands). Dry, medium(-) acidity, medium ripe generous tannins, medium(+) alcohol, medium body. Medium(+) flavours of black plum, black currants, sweet black cherries, leather, coffee, spice. Medium length with rather bittersweet finish. Well balanced and integrated wine with creamy mouth filing texture, linear and straightforward; every body's friend.

An excellent combination of the restraint of Bordeaux with the primarily fruit driven Napa Cabernet. All in an Italian wine. An outstanding QPR at $30, can be any every day drinking red. I think that it is probably at it best with capacity to last another 3-4 years.

Admittedly - this note is quite biased since I have just returned from an incredible visit at Collazzi and was hence very inclined to pick up a bottle of this wine from my cellar. Besides a very problematic cork, the wine was brilliant. Very forthcoming fruit without any intrusive elements. Light notes of tobacco, cedar and mint. Very very good balance and structure. Great wine.

I can't really get past the oak in this wine. There is fruit in the background but it is masked by slightly harsh flavours of coconut and new oak.

This wine ROCKS, especially on day 2 when the transparency has increased dramatically (as density has fallen off). I commented several times that I'd love to see this go head to head with some of the bigger-name "Super-Tuscans" such as Sassicaia and Ornellaia (although it doesn't try to compete with the richness of the latter). Distinctly Tuscan throughout (despite the fact that this is a Bordeaux blend), with an acidity that could never occur in a Bordeaux (at least without …

Opened 30 minutes prior to consumption. Drank alongside a 2004 Bernardus Winery Marinus. Much more fruit forward than the Bernardus with red raspberries and sweet red cherries on the palate. Exceedingly smooth and pleasurable. My dinner companion preferred the Bernardus, but it was a toss up to me.

Ugh...So yummy. Beautiful nose - such well integrated oak, deep fruits and raisin, classic tuscan "men's club scents. Gamey meats, tobacco, a slight hint of mint. Super balanced. The nose itself is worth the price of admission. Great acidic support and still drying tannins - this one will hold up for years, and will only get better as the tannins mellow and come in line. Nice long finish, but a little alcohol heat actually detracts from it. Even so - …

Opened this a little early to see how it's coming along. Very nice Bordeaux style blend showing all that you'd expect from a modern styled Cab Sauv, Merlot, Cab Franc mashup, including some obvious, but not overly intrusive oak influence. Lots of up front ripe dark fruit, currant, blackberry, plum, and blueberry. There is some Tuscan earthiness to it, but not as much as I'd prefer. It does however offer ample structure, with excellent acidity and assertive tannins, coupled with …

13% alc/vol. Nose speaks richly of the hillside terroir, the chalky minerality leaping from the glass. Currant, cassis and mulberry notes vie for attention, but are more subdued by the wine's aromatic structure than enhanced by it. The alcohol is also still prominent, though not overpowering, and at the moment seems a bit medicinal in a eucalyptus way alongside the fresh new oak aromes. The taste really reveals this wine's status...closed for business. At present, chalky tannin embraces every bit …

Beautiful, with great potential. The nose was a little tight but possible to tease out anise, cassis, black berry and hints of tobacco. The middle is concentrated, chewy, but not over-the-top or too big. Needs time to round out the finish but really enjoyed this wine.
