Bottled with cork. UK cellared since 2012 purchase. Remarkably dark colour with some smudgy brown at the rim. Nose is more minty than cassis. Some earthier notes but the Coonawarra fruit still declares itself. The palate is fairly light and finishes with more acid than tannin. I last tasted and reviewed this in 2016 when I worried that the finish probably relied on added acidity and might never integrate. However it has done better than I predicted

My last of 3 bottles. This bottle was in excellent condition! A beautiful aged Coonawarra cab sav. Deep garnet colour. That strong eucalyptus-y scent that I love about this region. So tannic and dry that is sucks the chalk out of your teeth. A stellar wine. I will look for more.

NobleRottersSydney - Stephen's Wynns Cabernet vertical: 06-15 (Glass Brasserie, Sydney) : {screwcap, 14%} [Stephen] Beautiful nose, reminiscent of wine no 1. Lots of new-world cigar box, herbs over subtle red fruit. The palate shows nicely maturing aussie cabernet, medium weight, acid, soft tannins, even along the tongue. Drinking well, close to peak for me.

Fully my, indeed a year or 2 past it, but drinking quite well. Soft berry fruits, some game, old red fruits. Do I put a 20yr marker on this line?

Still in great shape. Blackberries, mint + cigar box, and plenty of structure. No further notes or score, drank in restaurant after tasting the ‘73.

I think I need to seriously re-assess just how good this producer is from a Cabernet perspective. Yes at odds with my punk rock ethos but the consistency and value really is next level. Not hard to buy current vintage or the last 20yrs (from auction) under $40; at this price this is budget YV or MR CS from any decent producer. At 18yrs this is flying; no obvoious age in the colour and very good spice and blackberry across …

Screwcap, 14% alc. Medium Ruby with a hint of garnet. Hardly any sediment at all. Dusty walnut, blackcurrant, earth, beef stock, milk arrowroot biscuits, menthol and dark chocolate. Sweeter-fruited palate than is portrayed in the aromas. Glossy yet not alcoholic/fumey, with gentle kittens tongue tannins that caress all corners of the mouth. Acidity is perfectly balanced. Medium-full bodied. Opinion: much better than previous bottles consumed a few years ago, though it hasn’t yet developed strong tertiary aromas; surprisingly for a …

This bottle had some issues with the cork. It was very dry and crumbled, but the wine was not oxidised, so the seal must have been largely in tact. Very much a tertiary wine on the palate. Starting to show dried fruit flavours. And that slightly peaty smell I associate with older wines that are on the turn (might be the resultof the dry cork). Still pleasant, and I have 2 bottle of this vintage left, so hopefully I have …

Still going strong in late secondary stage. Would probably have lasted another decade. Slight bricking at the edges, still dark red. Bouquet a mixture of cassis, blue berries and red berries, cigar box, hints of mint and eucalypt. Pretty much the same on the palate, layer upon layer of differing flavours, with some chopped tobacco emerging late. 93+

Excellent. Classic style. Colour:Deep black berry Bouquet:blackberry and blackberry jam, vanilla, black pepper and spice Palate: mint, blackberries and plums, black pepper, leather. Very fine grained tannins, good firm acid but all in balance with alcohol and mature fruit. Long clean finish. Superb soft wine with good depth. November 2021

Lovely plush mouth filling cabernet. Smooth as velvet with a strong tannin backbone and great length. noticeable oak influence but nicely balanced by the ripe fruit and high acid. I didn't pick up much in the way of secondary notes and comparing to a 2016 had recently the flavour notes are similar but the texture is much more unctuous. I sort of expected a bit more complexity this far down the line. From this bottle I'd think it has plenty …

Deep ruby red with pronounced fading at the rim. Fresh mint and lavender are to the fore, with dusty dried blackcurranty fruits. Just a trace of wood smoke to round out the nose. While the herbal notes continue on the palate, they're overshadowed by a dark brooding earthiness. The primary fruits have mostly faded away, leaving mainly savoury bottle aged characters and woody notes. The tannins, while not fully resolved, have softened to an extent. The little fruit remaining appears on the …

Had this several days ago, and it seemed to be in the zone. Mainly about the plush blackfruits on show, with just a hint of herbal notes. Nicely concentrated, not a great deal of complexity, but nicely balanced and a lovely Coonawarra cabernet with still some ripe tannins to give it structure. Drinking well now, but in no danger of decline. Great value, and wish I had more (A-).

May have left this a year too long, seems to be slightly on the downslope, but absolutely wonderful, aged, nuanced wine - medium to medium deep mahogany colour is slightly alarming, but nose is beautiful, an aged gem, with just a hint of stewed or tired fruit at the end - dried fruit and spice, with tons of tertiaries like leather, plum skins, chamomile, a bit of rootsy-ness - palate is balanced, still has a gentle grip- nuanced. Delicious with …

{Cork} managed to get the crumbling cork out, excellent start Fantastic!! Blackcurrent, charcoal, ash, cedar, pepper, anise spice, mint and dark chocolate.. My word this is good for a a 32 year old wine, the acid and tannins have resolved nicely as you'd expect but it's far from flabby...There's probably still more to come, these wynns cabs are amazing value for money still to this day... Really should cellar more.. Yum

Bought at auction but clearly well stored both in appearance of the bottle, ullage (zero), condition of cork and tasting. For the price you pay for these on release they are remarkable value in my opinion. Not overly complex but nothing out of place or letting it down. The bright dark berry fruit is still there and intergrated really nicely with the now subtle oak. Dusty fine tannins and a mouthfilling silkiness enhances the ripe fruit. Concentrated English breakfast tea, …

Wonderfully in its prime; so drinkable. Very fresh aromas of grass and fresh fruit. Flavours of plum, pepper (almost Shiraz like), citrus bitters, blackcurrant. Aromas of citric acid, leather. A lot of tannins, long and smooth on the palate. Would continue to cellar well, but is wonderful right now. Probably the highlight of the evening.

Cellared since purchase in 2005. Bordering on Outstanding - Just a little over ripe (from the vintage?). Fully brown on this bottle with cedar, forest floor, dried fruit, dried herbs and just a touch of vanilla. On the palate there is still a surprising amount of ripe tannins but they have been integrated long ago into the whole package. Dried cherry and blackberry on the palate with the cedar and yes! umami the main focus. Long finish of cedar, fruit …

Cracking wine. Top cellared for good reason. But as per revent reviews this is good to go. Bought numerous at auction recently. Would not buy more. Love the flavours. The crispness. The traditional cab sauvigness. But slight brown at edge. They say if you can't go pink, go brown so I did.

Good enough nose, cigar box, damp and incredibly grassy, however lacking structure, backbone and a finish, the wine was way too thin and under-delivering. It wasn't off but another year and I imagine it will be a shot bird.

Slightly odd aroma when first opened, initially thought it might have been heat affected or similar - but after an hour or so, improved back to 'normal' - not as good as previous bottles, but I found 2 more bottles during a cellar audit, so can't complain. Still a good drop for A$11, but I think it's getting past its prime.
