Golden. Vanilla and gentle oak tannins subtle buttered stone fruit. Really delicious but suspect at peak

The last of our 2017 case which has evolved but consistently drunk well - it has become a Friday night with seafood staple. No sign of over maturity this delivers an easy to drink Macon style wine with some depth to it. We move on to the 2019 and 2020.

Coming towards the end of our case which has been consistently very good. It really is a good match for flaky white fish such as Cod or in this case Haddock.

Another very enjoyable Macon. Now mature with no major sign yet of old age but we will drink up over the next year. Still light and elegant enough for fish. I always seem to think good value with this wine.

Perhaps perhaps just beginning to show age but still a really pleasing example of Macon villages. It married nicely with fresh Irish sea cod pan fried with panko batter. Probably only at its best for another year or so. The colour is arguably a telling sign, just a hint of burnished gold in the mix of pale apple.

Macon, supposedly the poor man of Burgundy, but this wine consistently shows that the region can produce very drinkable wine. Okay it might lack the elegance and finesse of Cote D’Or but this is a very fine Chardonnay and very good vfm.

Another lovely bottle of a wine that shows no immediate sign of ageing. Still elegant enough to drink well with sea trout, yet with a degree of depth that marks it as a delightful Chardonnay.

This case is becoming a real joy to dip into. And we appear to have some time to do so as this is ageing very well for a Macon, but then we already know, this no ordinary Macon. Delicious

A great start of our full case - this is clearly a very sophisticated Macon. There was apple crispness as you would expect but there was both a richness and also an edge of salinity on the finish that gave this wine complexity. It will be interesting to see how this evolves.

Medium lemon colour. Floral, aromatic lemon/lime nose. Low acidity, stone fruits peach/pear palate. Medium finish, well balanced, enjoyable.
