Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) Chardonnay Los Vascos

I bought a case of this wine 4 years ago for $4/bottle and tucked one away in the cellar. Cracked it open today. Had I not known what I was drinking, I’d have said it was a nice CA Chard from a winery that knows what to do (and not to do) with chard. Wish I saved a couple more.

Good break from California. Heavy on pear and pineapple. Pretty refreshing. Dry, but not super dry.

Eher blasses strohgelb In der Nase reifer Apfel Geschmack tropenfrüchte, leichte Säure ein Hauch Vanille

Straw gold, nice aromatics of pineapple, apple, unripe pear, and stone fruit. Palate is very nicely balanced with surprising minerality and bright expressive fruit. A QPR monster. 4+12+15+7

I really enjoyed pear like, and nice nose and color served very cold

Golden apple and pear aromas complemented by floral scents. A bit faint on palate entry but builds up and expands on the palate with a lifting citrusy core.
