Tropical fruit, saffron, honey, zest. Rather rich with some acidity. Very balanced. 14 year in and no serious signs of secondary notes. Serious seepage though with cork completely disintegrated.

Walk around tasting, so just short notes. : Very beautiful and clean and still very fresh with only 8.5% ABV. Impressive and a great length. 93 - 94+

Tropical fruit and ripe pear/apple with hints of canned fruit, such as peach, pear and pineapple. Some petroleum and rubber, some herbs. Nice wine. Paired with Southeast Asian food. Based on this being a Spätlese with 7.5% abv I would guess the residual sugar is around 70-90 g/l. The balance is great, the overall feeling is lush and rich but frankly, less zingy than a Kabinett.

On the nose, petrolium, diesel hazelnuts, tropical fruit, mineral, wet corrugated paper. On the palate, pineapple, tropcal fruits, mineral, papaya, very nice with a good balance. Medium finish

Sweet and creamy exotic, still very fresh with signs of beginning maturity with second layers. A touch of that lovely Mosel diesel on the nose. This was a perfect cleanser during a 10 wine dinner tonight. Served between the langoustines and the steak tartar.

Initially had a strong burnt rubber or rotting food smell that dissipated. Otherwise, smelled of sweet peach, honey, apple / pear. Surprisingly sweet. Decent acidity, but we felt was too sweet to be considered balanced.

Mastodont: Mosel from 2009 (Hemmavid) : Non-Blind. Had immediately. Pale yellow. Distinct petrochem and apples on the nose. Magnificent concentration and good acids. Lacking only in complexity. This is a beauty. Has all in place for some very interesting years to come.

Creamy, lush and rich fruit with lots of white peaches, canned pineapple and even a little blackcurrant. Also some spices. Quite heavy and almost becoming flabby, it also has that distinct middle-Mosel petrol and sweetness combined. It's good but know this producer can do better. Would not hold it much longer.
