Solid product from TRB when he was at Schrader. Delightful plum and eucalyptus nose, deep ruby color, full body definitely can feel the VA. Green note with a bittery finish. Fine tannins and a long finish. A good expression of fruit forward Napa cab. A great tasting after many bottles of Italian reds.

Gorgeous, pronounced aromas of blackberry, cherry, plum, bay leaf, oak. Silky tannins, high alcohol, full body, medium acidity. Pronounced flavors of the fruits above, tobacco, charred wood. Long finish.

Opened for two hours, not decanted and probably should have cause it wasn’t just lovely and drinkable. Still a bit harsh, tannins and lack of distinctive flavors and berries. Next day was smoother but again not distinctly “excellent”.

Having had numerous Schrader's I must say that the DD are some great value wines for Napa Cab's. I never had the 2017 and once again was pleasantly surprised. Starts with wafts of cedar wood on the nose with concealed fruit. In mouth this wine is creamy and possesses a mouth-coating blackberry fruit enveloped in a lower acidty easier drinking cabernet. One hour decant. Tannins almost fully resolved. Mint, eucalyptus, cassis, and some oaky vanilla on the finish. Really enjoyable. Agree w previous note that there’s no reason to wait on these, even though they probably have many more years of enjoyment to go. Drink up!

When I think of great wine, this is what I imagine! Fresh dark berries, mouth watering fruit and alcohol lending towards being very food friendly, light early tannins that will likely diminish further thru age. My prescription is: drink one now and one every year thereafter. Love Schrader!

Double decanted back into bottle. Dark to the rim with ripe dark fruit nose. Drinking this wine is pleasurable to a point, super ripe blackberry and cassis with not enough acidity to balance my tastes. Others may enjoy this style and it's certainly has merits amongst other tasters here. No flaws in the wine itself, well made, crowd pleaser "cocktail" wine I say- "serve before Tuesday without food" style. Really don't see any merit in cellaring this further. Drink up …

Cabernet drinking like a fine Bordeaux! Excellent immediately out of the bottle and better throughout the night. Balanced tannins, rich berry color and flavor, long pleasant pallate. We had it matching fabulously with an 8hr beef brisket and BBQ chicken.
