Cascina Castlet Barbera d'Asti Vespa

great blueberry fruit on the nose, wonderful mouth feel, nice fruit on the pallette with beautiful tannins on the finish. very tasty!

this bottle was enjoyable but seemed very mature, much more than four years in fact, so I have would suggest consuming over the short term. Still, plum and chocolate with mature spice notes.

Drank with another holiday dinner with family, nice, fairly classic barbera with no rush to drink, but remember to decant off of what was a surprising sediment.

Nice medium garnet color. Strong scents of chocolate, caramel and bright fruit. Nice mouth feel with lively acid. Flavors of cranberry, earth and spice. The nice acid makes this a versatile wine for vegetarians.
