Roessler Pinot Noir Widdoes Vineyard

A bit jammy but with good quite dark fruit. Reminded me of a wine from southern Europe. Burned spices from oak. Medium length. This is however not the way I want my Pinots.

Saturday night at ATH with Pam and Harry. Had just a glass with my main course - grouper with carmalized onion and fennel with a sweet and sour tomato compote. Wine just "ok" - a little off. Confirimg my decision to drop out of the Roessler mailing program.

Saturday night at Steve and Sue's -brought ths bottle (Steve added one of his) and we enjoyed both with the salad course - Jilly's arrugala and rasberries - nice complement.

Thoroughly enjoyable bottle. Popped, poured and consumed. Nicely balanced.

Pale red in color, just a faint dustiness about it; lovely pungent barnyard, mushroom aroma which affirms one's love of the PN, ripe red berry, strawberry fruit prominent on the palate with layers of minerality and spicy components. We liked this one.

Moderately deep color with a purple cast to it, a bit of clean toast at first, fresh strawberry led pinot fruit and estery right out of the bottle, apricots, smoky, mossy, earthy with faint twangs of tarragon and cinnamon, strays over to chery cola and tobacco notes with time- rich and round in the mouth, softish yet retains good acidity, gentle tannins that build with time, richly fruited on the mid-palate in a sweet, new world way yet without significant …
