Sempre una garanzia. Bottiglia del cuore a questo prezzo

Disgorged 11/2024. Overall a very well made champagne at this extremely reasonable price point. Nose of ripe pear and on the palate were juicy ripe pears and red apples and a healthy squeeze of lemon. Really great mouthfeel for an entry level cuvée. It’s obvious that there’s plenty of high quality fruit in this.

2020-basem 22-disgorgement. Drinking beautifully after about an hour of slow ox.

Standard champagne notes (leaning slightly oxidative) but refined and well balanced.

Disgorged 2014, now well mature. The mousse remains lively, showing subtle caramel notes while still retaining a sense of freshness.

50% C, 40% PN, 10% M, Base 2022, 2.5g/l, bottled Jul 2023, disgorged March 2025, in old and new oak barrel for 9 months. Enjoyable easy drinking champagne with good balance on palate.

One of the juiciest champagnes I've ever had...red apple, red plum, raspberry, mouth-watering acid. There's some autolytic character but it's definitely in the background. Pure deliciousness

Bought less than a year ago. Nice enough but I know they get soo much better with 3-5 years of bottle age...

2021 base, 2024 disgorgement. Opened an hour prior to serving, then drank over 2 hours, last glass was the best. Really excellent, good richness, lively acidity and lovely fruit character, this punches way above its weight. Could have aged this longer but it was drinking so well this evening with 2 years post disgorgement that I feel there's no need to wait further.

12% alcohol. PN and C in equal proportions. Base year 2015 (50%), dosage 6-7 g/l (this is the Brut version), disgorged July 2018. Medium golden colour; the train of fizz is not very abundant, but the bubbles are very fine, and they explode nicely in the mouth. The nose has yellow fruit and a quality that I would describe as burnished rather than oxidative. Similar in the mouth with very good length; the relatively high dosage manifests itself in the …

2016 base, 55% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier. Fresh but very far from austere. Smoky, nutty nose, with an air of refined elegance. Beautifully crisp on the palate, with yellow fruit, chewy presence and good length. Spritzy and refreshing. Darker Pinot fruit showed itself with air. Great aperitif!

Always a very pleasing champagne. Balanced, moderate length finish, fine mousse with persistent bubble column.

Aromas of chalk, lemon zest. Clear, yellow hues with bright intensity. On the palate, is fresh, with a zesty acidity, medium to long finish, it ends light and crisp, well balanced. A enjoyable champagne, that shows complexity while being easy to drink.

This was a gift from CT Secret Santa. Mouth watering. Pear and lemon and chalk. Lifted and straightforward. A little metallic bitterness takes it down a peg. Delicious though, and a treat to share on Christmas. Primarily 2020 vintage.

Casual wine dinner : Mostly 2020 base, this was a little more austere than the '21 base that I opened last month. Also a little natty on the nose, perhaps in an awkward phase.

I have tasted the cuvée Sainte Anne before years ago, did not like it too much dosage, but this wine has 2.5 gr/l suits me fine, vintage 2022, degorged Jan. 2025, bottle in july 2023. The wine is muted but an fantastic impression, bubbles fine and soft, taste is seductive and alluring, wild Champagne needs some time to settle down , come back New years Eve🥂🇫🇷

Mostly 2020 - fascinating; citrus peel, king kampachi, white pepper, a little hazelnut. Still young but very enjoyable already.

Chartogne-Taillet is a favourite, and Saint-Anne from "mostly 2020" with deg date Sep 2022 is probably at its prime spot now and for 3 more years.

Rounder and more expressive than the 2020 - tasted alongside. Still taut and sapid, but the fruit feels more integrated now: pear, quince, and kirsch wrapped in some subtle spice and crushed stone. Saline drive remains present but softened by time in the bottle. Medium-bodied with fine structure but not rigid. Offers a smoother drinking experience.

Disgorged in October 2024. Mostly 2022, extra brut with 2.5g/L dosage. Very approachable and full of energy. Bright orchard fruit, a touch of citrus peel and saline lift. Fine mousse, good tension, and a nicely chalky finish. Not super complex, but honest, fresh, and easy to enjoy.

I'm not sure this is the vintage I had, but I think so. Served a bit too cold and therefore feeling a bit closed. Some apple, lemon, cream, white flowers, pear. Could have used some more time and attention.

Always a reliable entry-level Champagne that delivers. Classic notes of chalk and autolysis define the palate, with the texture and structure you expect from a well-made bottle. A benchmark expression of the category — consistent, balanced, and unmistakably Champagne. @Grale Bar

Disg 01/24. 80/20 - 2021/reserves. I think I've flipped around and am dropping Chartogne Taillet into the 'taste before buy' category. This last bottle of a 4 pack is the best but its still got that lactic, cider thing on the back end. The first three featured this more prominently and I really had a hard time drinking them. The "natural" thing just gets so old. I want my wines without corners cut in the process.

Another go with this. As before, medium intensity overall, with fuller and rounder notes of grilled lemon, yuzu, olive oil, ripe yellow pear flesh, poached pear, and limestone. Drinks fine on the initial pop (in fact, probably better earlier than later through the bottle - more freshness at the onset). A good wine but not a showstopper. Its profile is surely representative of the house style, but it could use a little help in the intensity and ‘pop’ departments. I’m …

Fantastic and surprisingly complex entry bottle from a producer I've wanted to try for a while now. Pale gold in the glass with a nice bead. Floral notes with toasted almonds, fresh bread and lemon zest. Palate is crisp, with a apple sweetness and chalky minerality to round out the lovely, long finish. This is really great value at or below $70 in my view, easily drinks like a $100 bottle.

Like a baby Hors Serie, the Couarres is a nice balance of freshness and vibrancy with subtle oxidative notes that sneak up on the back end. This carries white and yellow fruit, with a youthful push of primary melon, pear, and citrus pith flavors, as well as hints of nuts and grilled lemon. Medium intensity overall, finishing with a yuzu note that adds interest. 92-93+ (94 potential?) points. Not totally earth-shattering, but certainly worth a second look. Hold for a …

Chartogne-Taillet Masterclass (Meursault) : A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Thanetian and Ypresian limestone sands with clay, overlying deeper Tufa. The south-facing parcel yields a wine with a precise and mineral-driven profile. Aromas of green apple, citrus peel, and subtle herbs lead into a chalky, textured palate. The balance of freshness and depth makes this a standout wine with an incisive, lingering finish.

60/40 Pinot Noir/Chardonnay from 2018, vinified in smaller oak barrels, disgorged June 2023 with 4g/l dosage. Phew, this champagne just showed itself so wonderfully... Focused on the Pinot Noir and oak vinification with a really rich, deep and slightly oxidized expression, but it is perfectly balanced with freshness and intensity from the Chardonnay and somewhat youngness. This just fires on all cylinders and everything in the wine just plays so wonderfully together. It evolved and evolved with every sip during …

Very unique on the nose, I’m getting peach, apricot, and a bit of banana, which showed up prominently on pour, but seemed to subside with a little time in the glass. There’s a slight iodine-like note here. I’m also getting ginger both on the nose, but also on the palette. The palette is really nice here, with excellent texture and fruit, plus that ginger note that’s quite complex. My only gripe here is that the alcohol occasional feels a touch …
