A wine that really shows the tough vintage conditions Margaret River experienced in 2006. Has a lean, green, capsicum streak through it which does distract from the overall experience. Not the best example of this wine and in a 10 year vertical of Woodlands "Margaret" this would easily be voted last place. Ok.

Smooth oak, capsicum lifted nose and leathery green peppers notes that reminds me of a lynch bages 87 that I had just a few days backs. Elegantly framed and well aged.

Australia Wine Trip; 9/20/2009-9/21/2009 (Margaret River) : Savory roasted peppers on cool pristine fruits. Beautiful elegance with sandalwood finish.

Blackcurrant again dominates but a little thin with acidity coming through. Very clean though. After three hours mushroom nose and the palate becomes more prickly, tannins show themselves and the fruit becomes less pronounced. Finish also lengthens but the acidity is still marked.

Blackcurrant, blackcurrant, blackcurrant. Big initial hit on the nose and palate. Fades to reveal some pencil, fine tannin and good structure. Little flat at the moment but probably needs a little time.

A medium body, elegant style C.S. Fine and silky tannin. Delicate fruit on the palate. Savoury finish. Very good and luxury to pair with food.
