Pinot Noir Zoom Tasting. Tasted semi-blind. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, very pale intensity, purple colour. Thin legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of sweet spices, rapsberires, strawberry, fresh red cherries, boiled red candies. Youthful. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol, soft low tannins, medium- body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet raspberries, bright fresh red cherries, strawberry, sweet boiled red candies, spices and light herbal stems in the background. Medium finish. Good …

Nose: raspberries with chocolate Palate: berries with bitter spice on the mid-palate. Short but smooth finish Tasted with: pork loin chop and veggies. Overall: light colored and light bodied refreshing red. Would be good served at a lower temperature. Enjoyable overall. Consensus at my house: 86 points

Starting to turn to an amber hue. Strawberries and cream upon opening. Complex with hints of cardamom, cinnamon, and dark chocolate with a mushroom overtone. Dry for a pinot noir and tannins are still holding up.

Earthy cherry nose, showing smoky cherries on the palate. Tannins softening after 6 years. Smooth with oak well integrated. Firm acidity leads to long finish.

Somewhst funky nose with bacon fat over cherry and red fruit. Lots of acidity. Smooth mouthfeel. Flavors of bacon, cherry, cola, and a touch of earth. Interesting wine.

Metal cap. Dark clear red, nose of toast, vanilla, and floral, balance fruits of red and dark, good depth and structure, medium finish, but could be longer with suitable food.

Spicy and hot; moves into fullness mid-palate. Short and a little fruity on the back end. Good acid. Red currants. Opened up after 2 hours. I might buy and hold for a year to see what happens. I bought one bottle on the recommendation of the store (and, hey, Kim Crawford). I will go back for more.

Nose of bacon fat, red cherry, and cola. Medium, elegant body with a finish of cherry cola. Drink now through 2020.

Quite aromatic, showing red cherry, underbrush, cherry cola. Rich and round mouth-feel with some spice lingering on the finish.

this was nice and enjoyable. a typical NZ quaffer that was cola and baking spice dominant. dense for pinot, but balanced.

Fine for the price but lacking the complexity I associate with Central Otago. Better as it opened. Dark cherry cola with hint of spice in the background. Moderately long finish.

A stunning NZ pinot with great balance of fruit and finesse, but in the grand scheme, not quite worth the pricetag. Load up if found for $20.
