4th of 12, pnp, irritating pulled through crumbly cork, underlying wine as before and not really ready yet. VF at least (18.5).

Magnum chez G in Cornwall, perfect cork and level, even better and more nuanced than previous bottles last noted in December 2018. VF+ (19)….hard to imagine a more perfect representation of the Mosel and years from its best!

2nd of 12, pnp, perfect level, very crumbly cork which stuck and fell into bits, slightest of taint to fab underlying wine, hence downgrade, youthful at 19! Still VF (18.5).

1st of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level - pale but with touch of gold, quite unctuous; peach, mineral, fresh, pure, precise and complex; lightish, very long, concentrated and persistent, multi-layered, tense and nervous, like the auslese, just more so, rich but fresh/refreshing, young but drinking beautifully, hard to imagine a better aperitif, bravo! VFI (19.5).

Nose: petrol, waxy, apricot and a bit mineral. quite reserved nose until 2 hrs of breathing Palate: subtle petrol, mineral, mild acidity, rich apricot, honey at end with subtle mineral / tea finishing. A bit harsh at the end that may never go away. Need 2 hrs of breathing. Hollow mid- palate when not opened long enough. Overall quite subtle and reserved.

Leo's Blind Tasting Group - June '16 edition (Back Forty West, NYC) : Another great showing. Pretty much everything I want from a Prüm Spätlese at this age - the fruit's still very bright and youthful, and it's surrounded by all sorts of savoury smoky, fusel, lemon cream, and lightly honeyed flavours. Moderately sweet and very light on its feet with bright acidity balancing it well, and finishing with impressive length.

Sons and Daughters Cooking Up a Storm-Good Wines for the Occasion (Sons and Daughters, San Francisco) : Medium yellow. Flowers, petrol, and light citrus. Honeyed yet not terribly sweet. Complex secondary flavors yet ever so fresh on the palate. Outstanding at age 16 and a superb match for a beet vadouvan dish.

Mild petrol (for JJ) and lovely honey and citrus on the nose. Probably a declassified Auslese since there was a touch of botrytis. Fresh and lively and a perfect match to the beet salad at Sons and Daughters.

And right after the too-warm Steinertal, I had this way too cold. Pretty floral nose, excellent bracing acidity and minerality, slight chalkiness. Quite good. Gone in a jiffy.

This is in such a great place right now. Lots of fresh youthful Mosel fruit and florality, but also showing some creamy and smoky development with a vivid base of slate and stones beneath. The balance is impeccable with vibrant acidity balancing the moderate sweetness, and remarkable persistence on the back end (the bottle, unfortunately, doesn't last quite that long.) Great Spätlese.

Drinking stunningly well right now (and much better than my last experience with this 3 years ago.) There's certainly some development to the fruit with burnished, honeyed and creamy accents around the youthful floral, citrus and apple flavours, but it's still showing remarkable sense of freshness and precision with striking length. Great stuff.

Decanted for 4 hours to avoid any sulfur notes. Beautifully youthful, with lots of lemon/citrus and slate/stone flavors. Bright acidity still. A baby, worth holding on to for some time (at least another decade). Georgous wine

A Few Days in New Orleans; 8/25/2011-8/27/2011 : Yellow. Equal mix of mature petrol and yellow nectarine. Off dry, mix of stone fruit and lime. Completely mature with resolved acidity but excellent base of slate. A beauty if not quite head turning.

Medium yellow. Incredibly complex array of fruit here. At various times, I got peach, citrus, and even cherry. No obvious botrytis. Just the barest hint of petrol which did not increase as the wine opened. Off dry, perfect weight (manages to seem lean and creamy all at once-quite a feat), excellent slatiness and acidity to complement the great fruit. Wonderful now, but this has some time in hand.

This is starting to wake up after years of being closed. The fruit is emerging from the previous foundation of structure and it is shaping up to be yet another success for this estate. Still somewhat primary on the nose with swirling the aromatics entice.

Light yellow colour with a nose of lemon, pear, baked apple and flowers. Very youthful on the palate showing citrus, apple and white fruited flavours over minerals and good acidity and a faint honeyed note coming out with time. Pleasant but lacking the complexity and depth I expected,

AP number 5-00; 10 years too young. Still completely youthful, though not so sulfurous to be unenjoyable (in fact it's very enjoyable, just too young).

Light lemon yellow. Just beginning to take on more mature Riesling petrol notes along with flowers and lemon. True Spatlese in weight with just a hint of residual sugar, lemon, yellow peach, and the faintest hint of honey. A terrific juxtaposition of freshness and the growing complexity that comes with 10 years of age.

Clear, pale lemon, narrow watery rim. Some effervescence. Clean, medium intense aroma. Primarily fruity (apples), but also floral and mineral notes. Medium dry, medium acidity and light/medium boided wine. Good fruit intensity, showing apple, perhaps muscat and distinct floral notes. Good length finish, low alcohol, some effervescence. Good quality wine - drinking now.

Vertical tasting of the 1998-2001. This wine was served a little too warm I thought and suffered because of it. The roundest of the 4 Prums but I thought it could have used a little more acidity. Notes of green apple and pear with a rich finish. 90.
