Definitely at or near its peak, with excellent balance of fruit, acid and tannins. Very yummy!

Opened on Thanksgiving. Perfect pairing with turkey and sweet stuff which came with it. Wine is at the end of its peak. Smooth and noble. Black fruits dominate the palate. Typical Carneros charm on the nose. Love it.

It took a bit of time to open up, but yet another example of the rich, lush style Donum brings. Cherry, fleshy plum and spicy oak mix with a touch of saline minerality.

This wine has deservedly gotten excellent reviews. It is a wonderful Pinot Noir. Dark purple, full bodied, smoky oak scents, rich strawberry and cherry flavors. This is my second bottle of Dumon Pinot, both have been excellent.

Remains one of our favorite wines...this mature wine has elements of earth and mushroom to add to the pure cherry and raspberry notes

After opening and an initial taste, recorked and drank the next night. All comments are per day 2. Incredible nose, no need to drink. But when tasted, a full, rich fruit filled experience with a very long finish.

Fantastic Wine, plenty of spice and baked cherry notes on the finish, with raspberry and green tea on the front of the palate

We took this one to Charlie Palmer Steak to celebrate the wife’s birthday. The wine was in terrific shape and drank wonderfully. There is still some fruit to it and probably a a good few more years depending on your palate. It paired awesomely with the chicken as well.

Consistent with note 7/16/12, this is a masculine pinot. Through the last 5 years it has definitely gained on complexity. Perfumed and complex red berries nose, good weight and long finish. Lost a bit of weight causing the 14,4ABV to punch a bit. Still 93

Dark ruby, masculine, dense mouth feel, stewed cherries dominate, rounded with age, with some of the alcohol still showing. Well made wine, although not overly complex.

Showing very well right now. Has developed additional complexity over the last few years while still maintaining its notes of strawberry, red cherry, and licorice/anise. There were moments I would swear I was smelling some kind of burgundy funk in the glass. Very enjoyable.

Family Winemakers 25th Anniversary Tasting, I remember their first at the Hyatt Embarcadero. Nose of earth, black cherry fruit, and charred oak, more of the same on the palate, big body, mouth filling fruit, some complexity, needs two years in the cellar, long finish.

Super rich and lush - huge floral nose, augmented with herb and tar. When tasted, rich plum and cherry notes are added - finishes smooth and fine - almost delicate. So starts of a lion and finishes a lamb.

Agree that this is a big wine. A very pleasant, floral nose. Mostly blue with small amounts of red fruits, a hint of cola, and vanilla. A nice smooth texture but not too heavy. "Structured" comes to mind but not harsh or tannic in any way. This is drinking very well now.

Wine Spectator 96 ! I suspect this is based on future potential and age-ability. Pulled 5 oz through Coravin. All components for a nice Pinot is there. Concentrated, tons of fruit but not OTT, and wonderful aroma. There is some tannins and a little etoh bite at the end. A couple more years and all that should integrate well. Bottle back to cellar (thanks to Coravin).

This made Seasmoke seem lithe. Did I say it is a big wine? Loads of fruit both black and blue with decent acidity. I like bigger wines so I enjoyed it but I can think of more than a few berserkers that woul pour this down the drain...

Extraordinary. One of the best California Pinot Noirs I have ever tasted. Amazing concentration and depth. Tasted blind against Kosta Browne and Kistler Pinots from the same vintage, and this was the clear favorite of the night. Kudos to Donum for keeping production very small and producing stunning Pinot Noirs year in and year out.

Big and delicious; lots of fruit. Had it for second red as Thanksgiving dinner was winding down, and savored it as we sat around the table. It was at its best at that point; might have overwhelmed the turkey if it had been the first bottle.

Big, plush nose of blackberries and some vanilla. The palate is big, very big, mouthcoating and all about fruit. It did have clean edges, meaning it was not cloying at all but it is right on the edge. I like wines like these so buyer beware. Probably too big for most.

Bigger new world style Pinot. Cherries, black cherries a little strawberry and some spice upfront. Evolves nicely with spice and dark fruits. Medium+ finish. Reminds me of Rochioli. Well made, beautiful dark color.

This year's West Slope is a powerhouse. Strong spice and cherry on the nose, elements of raspberry and compote are introduced when tasted. Deep and very long, Donum continues to provide the best of New World pinot.
