1 hour decant, slight brownish hue to otherwise deep red. Not too much on the nose but is there is woody and leathery and spicy and makes me want to drink. Excellent structure, fine tannins and some juicy acidity. Dark fruits, forest berries, pine, more leather. Really great that could be from the left bank. Makes me want to eat a burger.

Drank over two nights. This is the last of 3 bottles, and this winery impresses with both this wine and their flagship. This wine tastes like a traditional bordeaux blend from Chile. It has that herbaceous flavor that might come from cabernet franc, but I bet the carmenere is mostly responsible. Pretty fruit with fine tannins. As someone else stated, here's a new world wine with some old world qualities.

Pop and pour, drank two glasses over 2 hours. There's a mix of red fruit and savory almost vegetal qualities, with some earth to balance it out. Tannins are fine. We really liked this with beef tenderloin.

Open and complex aromas of ripe fruit...berries, soft balsamic and floral notes. Unctuous, fruity, supple, balanced, with ripe fruit flavours. Medium to long finish on a hint of peppery spices. Very nice! Drink up!

Nez : tapis forestier, sous-bois, champignons, griotte, épices à ketchup maison, tige de tomate, nouveau cuir... Son fruit m'est typiquement bordelais. Étagé, rond, fondu, velouté...charmeur. Longue finale sur le fruit. Prêt à boire. Superbe !

Purple and opaque with long legs and no rim variation. The nose is rich with bell peppers, white pepper, and ripe blue fruit. Green bell pepper and licorice. The blend feels more like a battle royal of Bordeaux grape varietals. The finish is rolling reef fruit. 5+12+17+7=91

Fabulous wine. Everything I love about Chile. The fruit is dense confected pastilles. Reminiscent of Ribena but this has freshness. And Chiles signature streak of green.

A special wine, start of its window. Vik's 2nd wine, all estate fruit, great value. N: ripe blackcurrant, spiced rich plum, silky and luscious, subtle leather and oak cream. Balanced and enticing. P: Full, blackcurrant, more ripe plum, subtle blueberry reduction but not confected. Perfumed character to the fruit. Uplifting, Old World style med+ acid and med grainy tannin structure hold any exuberance in check. Baking spice and cracked black pepper add finesse. F: Clean, brambly.

There is good purity of fresh blackcurrant and ripe gooseberries with fragrant undertones of dried Bay leaves, oregano and smoked vanilla and cedar. Open and complex nose. The bold and complex aroma flowed through the palate to the finish. A full-bodied wine with a huge but polished structure and layers of fruits, smoked meats, minerals and spices. Transition to finish can still be somewhat energetic and raw but some aging will smoothen this out. Finish is dense and very long …

Pop and pour, and then ran through an aerator, which got the tannins to a very fine point. This wine is silky, precise and has many layers. The fruit is intense without being a fruit bomb. Overall, this wine tastes smooth and classy. There's earth, spice and smoke. 91-92

Modern blend of Cabernet with some Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and a bit of Carmenere. Plum, cassis. Ripe and rich. Balanced but a little chunkier than the Garage Wine Co. Cabernet next to it. More hedonistic. Some chocolate. None of the Chilean leafy green notes. Keeps fresh though. Around 3,000 cases are made. Still young. 92+ https://winediplomats.com/

The nose is rather subdued with hints of smoke, blackcurrant and earthy spices. The palate is delicate with succulent blackcurrant fruit, smooth tannins and is medium to full bodied. Then it is balanced with perfect acidity. The finish is long and tasty. This is not a fruit bomb, but a wine made with great precision. I drank the Vik A earlier in the week and that was good but this is a step up and you can instantly tell. I …

a Birthday at Vik Chile; 11/3/2019-11/4/2019 (Viña Vik, Millahue, Chile) : Served with the first course at dinner; wine well aerated. Surprisingly, there were no herbaceous aromas to the nose, but plenty of red and black fruits with wisps of nuts and coffee. In the mouth, it had a pleasant round feel, with a fresh fruity acidity and restrained tannins. Nice long finish. It seemed youthful and vigorous but not overpowering. Enjoyable now, but with seemingly good potential to go …
