I found this somewhat oxidative on the nose, but palate had a lot going on - yeast, almonds, toast. Really quite nice.

A good champagne that is losing its power. Drink up if you got any.

Consistent with previous note, but this wine needs to be consumed within 1-2 years, no Point in keeping it any further.

Sweet apples on the nose, also grey pear. Medium+ bodied, rich ripe fruit, apples, some cream and nougat. Acidity helping to maintain a fresh feeling. Elegant bubbles. A good mature champagne, no need for further cellaring.

Green apple, old sourdough starter, cacao, bruised fruit nose. Mature, smoothed out palate, quite salty, more tart apple, all finished with a squirt of lemon juice. Good, but might be falling apart.

This bottle showed a little better than the one a week ago. Not enough experience with 20 year old champagnes to compare with others, but I enjoyed this bottle.

Monthly Tasting Group: Pizza Night (Black Sheep, Mpls, MN) : Medium gold color. Drank a small pour over 15 minutes. The color looked pretty good on this and it was drinkable, but something of a meh for me. It was at the least oxidative, but was somewhat oxidized, sour apple, probably just too far gone to really enjoy. Would have been better with food.

(Disgorged in December 2015) Yellow colour with a stream of fine and tiny bubbles. Mature nose showing reductive notes of chocolate, plums, oak and a little hint of vanilla in a bit oddish way, but still very nice. Palate shows some oxidation, but still with some fruit to match the acidity so typical of the vintage. Very nice and long finish showing oak and lime. This is drinking very nicely right now and was a very good match to a …
