Tannins and acid has mellowed. Actually fairly decent for the age and price.

Don't know if this is still made or not. It was a gift from a friend a few years ago we drank yesterday and today. It is light for a Petite Sarah, but still big and bold. Fig, chestnut, black cherry, coffee combine for an amazing intro to the wine. Tasting the wine there is perfect acid/tannin balance with all the nose notes continuing with the exception of the fig.

For a second label it was pretty solid. Good fruit to tannin balance and classic petite sirah taste.

Still getting better...and after the second day it was terrific.

Blackish purple. Plum, leather, and woody spice nose. Medium bodied, blackberries, green peppers, tart cherries, black pepper, drying tannins, tobacco, and medium length slightly sour finish. Well made and easy to drink for a PS.

Big wine but well balanced after being open for an hour or so. Initial tobacco and meat flavors were a little strong but settle and become well balanced with the fruit.

Much better than the last one I had about a year ago.. It has evolved into a good dinner drinker esp for the $$!! If it keeps rolling it will hit the 91-2 mark.

Similar notes as before. At $15 this brings the juice. Wonderful mouth feel, smooth and chewy, licorice, dark fruit and some BBQ meat. If scoring 89-91.

Decanted for several hours. Nose of vanilla and oak. Dark, rich color. Full bodied, but this bottle was very smooth and easy to drink. Perhaps the best bottle so far, but unfortunately my last. 50,5,13,16,6=90

This was sold as an "Vincent Arroyo" second label. It is way down the chain as far as quality. I drink a lot of Vincent's wines and this was lacked the body and earthy taste that his wines are noted for.

Ran through vinturi into decanter. Color is super dark and inky. Nose has that vanilla aroma from the oak. Palate is still big and tannic. Not a smooth wine, gets somewhat better over a few hours. Decent wine for a second label Vincent Arroyo at $15, but no where near the premium P.S. that you pay $45 and up for. 5,13,13,6=87

It was very good with BQ pulled pork -- nice dark red-purple color.

Supposed to be a Vincent Arroyo wine. Not as good as his regular stuff, but very drinkable.

Purple with a magenta edge. Boysenberry, vanilla, mint and leather nose. Full bodied, opens with a distinct greenness - bell pepper? - followed by sharp blackberries, dark tart cherries, woody tannins, black pepper, soy sauce, good acid, and a medium to long finish. Not bad (and a good value at the WTSO price), but doesn't seem fully integrated yet.

Very nice. Took about an hour to open up. Very dark in color. Dark fruit, spice and licorice. Yummy mouth feel. Pretty strong stuff at $15. If scoring 89-90.

Decanted. Deep dark purple. Nose full aromas vanilla, dark fruit. Found the palate to be harsh and very tannic. Disjointed with a rough finish. Not consistent with past bottles. 5,13,14,6=88

I saw this one on WTSO and had to get some after tasting at Arroyo just a few weeks ago. This definetly doesn't make the cut as a first run Arroyo but it is pretty good anyway. Very nice QPR! Deep purple color, very purplely said my DIL, vanilla with spice on the nose. Fruity along with spice notes on the palate with a med length finish.

Deep red purple color. Fruit forward in a very concentrated way. Notes of pepper, candy cherries, blackberry and plum all combine for interesting mix. A bit short on the finish and not quite completely balanced, but very good.

This wine is a secondary label from the legendary Vincent Arroyo who makes some of the best Petites around. This was most impressive especially because it cost 1/2 the price of his name brand. Color was deep purple, ink like. The nose was giant with aromas of vanilla, butter, and gentle spices. The palate was medium-bodied with a balanced flavor profile. The finish had a lingering spiciness that left me wanted more. Great representation of Napa Petite. Will look to …
