Very nice autumnal nose with hints of fruit (cherry). Starts out earthy but after a few hours it opens up - no longer the decaying leaves nose of old Burgundy. Still vibrant flavors with excellent acidity giving good tart flavors of cherry. Tannins completely resolved and a sweet and tart character. Nice finish - not much mineral character. Very nice shape for this old bottle - really surprised how good it is. Not sure about Charmes Chambertin character though. However, …
