It may be that I have not developed a palette for madiran wines but this seems rather flat. It is very dry, with a leathery taste. I also get a hint of cherry (black).

60% tannat, 40% cabernet franc. Plums, black cherry, cedar, tar and a hint of black olive on the nose. Dark plum skin, black cherry, a little of that black olive, firm tannins that convey a lingering bitter dark chocolate finish. Rustic, true Madiran terroir, fantastic QPR at less than $7.
