This was on it's way downhill. Golden in color, showing tired fruit and carmelized apple notes.

This wine is taking on a deep golden color. Drank with shrimp in garlic and herb butter, which was a fantastic pairing. There is some age showing on the wine and whatever butteriness there may have been is well integrated. On the nose I got lots of spice, pineapple, and even some macerated strawberries. Delightful, fresh fruity - slightly complex and layered.

So, the first time I had this, it was smack in the middle of a flight of Chardonnays at a local wine bar. I really liked it then, and bought a couple of bottles. Rich, thick - almost Sauternes-like texture with a nutty taste makes this Chardonnay a maverick among its peers. Flavors are quite expressive with roasted almond, butterscotch, pineapple and apricot. Very attractive finish with a hint of smoke. Really exotic. Drink now until 2016.

Rich and deep, but also fruity. A very good Cali Chard. Deep golden colour. Very good (85.5).

This is a well regarded Napa Valley chardonnay with a tropical fruit nose. The flavor is tart fruit, dry and oaky with a smooth long finish. It's a different tasting chardonnay, a very restrained fruit but a very layered effect on the finish. 90, good but different.
