2hr decant. Beautiful red fruit with earthy tones. Lots of spice and chocolate. Decent finish. Nice Pinot

Anton’s Wine Tasting Notes Winery: Orin Swift Varietal: Pinot Noir Area/Appellation: Santa Rita Hills, Sonoma Coast Vintage: 2016 Price: $40/Closeout Kansas market Color: Dark ruby from below, ruby with pink rim from above Legs: slow to medium Nose: cherries, cola nuts, Palate: black cherries, some raspberries, vanilla oak, very little clove or underbrush Finish: clingy yet there is some decent balance after 2.5 hours being open. In fact it is pretty darn good. Comments: A fruit forward Pinot full of …

An excellent wine that isn't your typical Pinot Noir. More acid and tannins than what you expect from a Pinot, which should hold well against a variety of foods. As with most Pinot Noirs you do get an initial fruit forward taste, but it quickly moves to earth undertones with wet leaf, tobacco, and grape seed flavors. Good complexity, strong structure. A treat.

Quite warm Took a few minutes to mellow out. Not a great pinot and way overpriced.

Dark plum purple. 15.8% abv, a beast of a Pinot. As you’d expect from Finney, and this alc level, this is fruit forward, rich, slightly off dry, cherry cola, burnt ends, clove.

Pinot Noir Tasting : Smoky Amarena cherries in the nose. Appears rather clumsy. Similar impression on the palate, very alcoholic, fruity and soft, Amarone-like, but no sense of place and obviously extremely modern in style. No apparent identity, this is just so boring and underwhelming. One of the lowlights of the evening for me. This is of course ridiculously overpriced as well.

Love the high alcohol pinot. Love it. Love it. Gives it volume and richness, not like all that weak stuff out there. Not complex but just great.

Loved this wine! Abundantly aromatic, with ripe cranberry, marmalade, white pepper, fresh brioche, and dried sage. The entry is silky with a flood of cherry, Madagascar vanilla and ripe red fruits. Seamless, integrated and opulent it is subtlety integrated with soft tannins.

Not a fan, too much alcohol and with a bitter aftertaste.

Only medium colour and viscous. Nose is of ripe plum and strawberry. Amarone-like texture and flavours. Appropriate for very strongly spiced food, I suppose. 15.9%

To me this was like a combination of communion wine and Concord grape juice. Had an artificial/plastic flavor and aroma that was off putting. Usually I enjoy the Orin Swift wines, but this one is not for me.

Not great. I love strong wines but there are better Pinot’s out there.

Nice wine but not a lot of complexity, fruit and finish. What was there was fruit forward and enjoyable.

Fairly dark, Big alcoholic and jammy, but well made if you like the style. Not a wine to ponder, just to enjoy with a big group of folks who also don’t want to ponder.

Lots of barnyard at first opening but blew off after an hour of being open. Easy drinking

No doubt it seduces with fruit and power, it simply lacks finesse. If you desire a luscious bi-tone wine to enjoy without being distracted during a convo, a business meal perhaps, order this. Actually, I’d recommend this for a business meal...you’re likely to close the deal! If you’d appreciate a bit of contemplation in your experience, try something a bit lighter with 4 or 5 tones to it. Solid wine, and actually not overpriced. Just needs to be selected to …

Nice job. A carbohydrate rather than vegetable pinot. Really easy to sip with good integration and a on echo of reminiscent earthiness. Would buy a few of these, really easy to drink pinot. But Dave, why the boring bottle?
