I'm upping my score by a point based on this half bottle. Nice fruit on PnP, still showing its youth, smooth tannin.

At t=0: nothing on the nose, palate non-descript. Loosely covered the Bordeaux wine glass. After t=20 minutes minerality-almost petrichor- had concentrated above the deeply dark red juice (thank you, petit Verdot), then poof, gone. Another night, another bottle, a transient floral aroma was captured in first 30 min after opening, so the wine is capable of early development in the glass. After one hour, the nose and mid palate started to say Bordeaux, but after that there was no further …

PnP from 375. Lighter weight, but showed some of the richness of the grand cru. It was nice by itself and with appetizers but was overpowered by a cheeseburger. 89+

D+0h: a tiny bit of deposit in the filter, a little bit more in the bottle, smells of raspberry D+4h: dark as ink, on the rim purple red, smells of blackberry, raspberry, smoke and leather, smooth in the mouth, medium to full body, in the mouth blackberry, raspberry, smoke and a little bit of leather, has a little bit of residual sugar, so not completely dry, in the aftertaste blackberry, raspberry, smoke and acidity, very good length (45 sec), good …

Nice mid-weight St Julian. Had a little herbal and tobacco leaf quality to the nose and palate adding complexity. However, still hollows out a bit on the mid-palate where it lacks concentration and intensity. Seems like a wine to drink now or in the near future. Tannins quite mild for a bdx this young.

Tasted this wine at the Chateau Branaire-Ducru Tasting with Francois-Xavier Maroteaux at the Tower Club as part of the International Congress of Chinese Cuisine & Wine (ICCCW). Dark shades of red with fresh, young plums. Juicy and elegant with a long, silky finish and aftertaste.

Tasted this wine at the Chateau Branaire-Ducru Tasting with Francois-Xavier Maroteaux at the Tower Club as part of the International Congress of Chinese Cuisine & Wine (ICCCW). Purplish-red with long legs. Notes of figs, haw, dried herbs (rosemary), cigar, some musk, and black mushrooms. This wine is well structured and still in its primary stage with a touch of mint.

Same great flavors as 2012. Bit more bold with a nice acidic finish. Just want to have lamb with this wine. All of the herbs covering a lamb roast will be wonderful Average age 35 year old vines Good elegant structure and balance across the palate
