A very reticent, lean and dry style of Champagne. I like this a lot, as does Deb, but it's not forward and opulent. On the second night, the bead is almost non-existant, with light yeast, clear fruit and flowers on the palate. Very Blanc de Blanc, and a very reticent style, which is a good thing.

Kort fortalt en helt grei Champagne som kanskje virket litt tynn. Veldig frisk, syrlig og tørr. Kan med fordel lagres lenger for å runde den av litt.

Champagne; 9/20/2010-9/23/2010 : Strong yeasty - fresh sourdough bread - brioche scent. Not quite right, a bit like fermenting grape juce at a "bready" stage. Palate is however full, noble, with good ripe sweetness and a touch of star fruit. Shame about that off-note on the nose... 86P (?)

Guy Charlemagne Champagne tasting at the Maison (Le-mesnil-sur-Oger) : pleasant complexity on the nose (some musky, honey like notes which I did not expect and liked). Has all the promises of something very special and unique, but, alas, the bouche is a letdown: too simple - carbonated cream soda feel.
