Beautiful wine, still vibrant with lovely nose, bright color and deep flavor palette. Long finish. I think this will still be showing well for another 5 years at least.

Past it’s prime. Thought this would last longer but it has completely fallen apart. Burnt wood, leather and dirt. No fruit left. Cork was intact and stored in professional cellar same as prior bottles. Glad this was the last one.

I hope it was corked because it tasted awful. No fruit at all and lots of bricking.

Smooth well balanced very nice brunello. Red fruit, earth, oak, spice and a bit of smoke. Two hour decant.

Intense nose - dried herbs, ripe, stewed fruit. Soft tannins. A bit round. Lot of sediment and bricking - surprising for 7yr old bottle.

Italian Invasion Part II: Brunellos (Italian Wine Masters Seminars & Tasting, Terra Gallery, San Francisco, California) : Medium dark red violet color; oak, tart plum, red berry nose; oak, tart plum, red berry palate; medium-plus finish 90+ points

The Italian Wine Masters (Metropolitan Pavilion) : The nose showed sweet, dark red fruits with spice, undergrowth and herbs. On the palate, it was balanced and smooth with red berries and notes of licorice. Its large structure took control into the woody, red berry finish. The ’06 is truly the yin to the ‘07s yang and shows two consecutive vintages that are equally enjoyable for completely different reasons.

Black cherry, plum (?), earth, and pepper, mostly forward tasting with modest tannins that do not hold for too long. I would agree that it seems fine given the 2002 vintage.
