PNP. cork wet to top w small amt leakage. color gold. nose has wax honey and apricot - aromatics c/w botrytis. swishing shows considerable acid structure that hides the fruit. sipping however, tells the whole story, allowing the tense fruit to show its considerable length. this one has power that defies the botrytis and persists on the long finish. would have mistaken this for older Austrian if tasting blind, but only because this is a peculiar bird

Very very fully priced here in Australia in the high 30s from a couple of years ago. Simple, straight forward just off-dry in style and showing some pongy mature notes (although early days). Shortish finish. Not going anywhere but should hold for a few years.

I picked this up for $3 (normally $13) and opened it last night. Excellent introductory dry wine from this fine Pfalz estate. Loaded with character. Silky texture with citrus, mango and white fruit. I would not say that this is completely dry. Crisp finish. 89 points.

No formal notes. Not my favorite Trocken producer but a solid wine nonetheless. Racy acidity that tingles the tongue, underlying stone fruit with a touch of grass that is quickly washed away by the acid. Mouthfeel is full bodied but finishes clean. Obviously this needs time to unfold.

A Lazy Summer Afternoon (Hillsborough, CA) : Light yellow. An intriguing synthesis of Riesling peach pit and grassy Sauvignon on the nose. Surprisingly full bodied and lush, but completely dry with brisk, lime aciditiy. Not a particularly mineral example but good focus. Excellent and reminiscent of Austrian Riesling given its weight, alcohol content, and balance.
