Beyond its window and feeling tired it is unfair to score. I am drinking up all my wines that are past dates and if they are still OK they accompany dinner. This did. Not make it.

I thought this bottle a little thin and not as good as the prior bottle.

very typical and cleanly made Mencia. ripe cherries, minerals, some black licorice. Oak comes in at the end with some nice vanilla notes. This is really nice and perfectly appropriate. Would re-buy for sure.

Consistent with previous bottle; nose of red fruits, sour cherry candy; tart cherry and cranberry on the palate; more minerality day 1 vs. day 3, slight smokiness; very little tannins; simple, not terribly complex but still enjoyable with and without food; continue to feel this is a Spanish version of a Beaujolais...but give me the Bojo.

Bright, nice balance of red fruits--red and black cherry, raspberry--with a touch of spice and cedar. Very drinkable and great with food.

Pretty nose full of red fruits upon opening; cherry, cranberry, tangy, mineral streaks on the palate; clean and fresh, almost no tannins; drink it now; comparison to a Spanish version of a Beaujolais pretty much right on.

Dried cherry fruit-roll-ups, and some muted crushed rose (?!) petal notes. Everyone loved, me only slightly less than last time.

90/91. Wet granite, Jolly Rancher cherry fruit, light tannins, juicy juicy juicy. Just an awesome value. Total Mencia typicity, and yet its own wine. We brought it out at just above fridge chill -- loved it at that bracing first temp (focused the laser beam) and then loved it all the way up. Want more.

Great stuff for a change of pace. Light to medium bodied, balanced, smooth, with a nice foundation of earthy dark fruits. I should rate this higher just to get people's attention, it's really that worth it to go out and try it for yourself.

Definitely falls into the medium-bodied category, and benefitted from some glass time as it grows on you with each sip.

Light. Smooth. Rose petals, but not fruity. A food wine. 89/90

Vibrant ruby color. Bright red cherries and berries on the nose, with roses, sweet red licorice. Also an earthy streak on the nose and a Morgon-like combination of flowers, granite and loam. On the palate, tangy acid, dusty tannins, this is a tangy but forward wine with every kind of red fruit from currants to red apple peel. I love the deep sense of rocks and soil, mixed in with notes of sweet pipe tobacco and lots of roses. A …

Forty five minute decant, the nose opens with plums and raspberry and a slight vanilla undertone. The palate had the unique mencia bite to it mixed in with ripe fruits and edgy acidity as well as voluptuous tannins. This has a refined style that is more elegant in body than anything else, pairs well with salmon.

Last review sums it up. Didn't pair so well with a BBQ lemon chicken; the wine favors austere terroir over fruitiness. But still a great wine with fantastic depth.

Nice crisp red cherry and raspberry on a bed of fresh stones. Very little tannin, it reminded me of a volcanic Nero d'Avola from Sicily. Quite delicious and easy to pair with food.
