Opaque ruby. Moderate intense nose of smoke, licorice, game/meat/funk, blackberry fruits, exotic spice. mocha, fruitcake which are not descriptors I normally like but somehow this works. Complex and pleasing nose that draws you in. Low-moderate acidity, medium-full body, amazing glycerol and thick presence on the palate but manages to avoid being heavy. Replay of dark berry fruits on the palate. Warm, plush mid-palate hide the tannins but they kick in a bit on the finish which is long. I'm impressed. …
