Quite concentrated on the palate with loads of plum and black cherry, some bitter dark chocolate and a crack of black pepper. A touch of tertiary flavors are beginning to peak through in the form of mushroom and forest floor, but they’re still quite a way off in the distance. Despite being six years on, this still feels a bit young to me—indeed, there’s just the slightest whiff of green in the back. I’d like to come back to this …

PnP - enjoyed over 2h. Slumbered for 517 days in French & Austrian extra tight-grain oak. Cherries, dried cranberries, old leather boots that have been lovingly cared for, a spicy quality, a hint of pencil case from the cold war, earthy, vanilla, dried mushroom. Very nice savoury (ain't talking the herb) quality.
