Low acidity. Flabby. American Oak has overtaken the fruit and now all I get is dill covered in dusty unsweetened chocolate powder. How anyone can drink this stuff is beyond me. Much better at a young age before the fruit starts to fade. So glad I dropped this winery's club shipments as all their wines have aged in the same manner.

Much better than last bottle a year ago. Fruit more evident, better mouthfeel. Must have been in a lull last time.

Delicious beyond belief. I could just hold my glass to my nose and enjoy aroma for hours.

It’s fine but not much wow to it. Low acidity, don’t expect too many years more. American oak doesn’t do it any favors.

Very deep dark ruby color. Chocolate, lush anise-laden dark fruit and spearmint on the nose. Dry, velvety, mouth filling palate, with lively acidity and lots of spearmint. Firm, full tannins on the medium long finish. This has really improved over the past year.

Nose of black berry, plum, and cherry, more of the same on the palate, medium/big body, tasty, at its peak so time to drink up, looking back at the purchase price, good stuff but overpriced, mouth filling fruit, and a long finish.

Three hour decant. Dark, inky magenta color. Plum, maple syrup, balsa wood, leather and hydrangea on the rich nose. Smooth, heavy palate. Mellow tannins on the medium long finish. This is just barely entering its drinking window ( a bit tight). One or two more years will have this truly singing (and it’s good already).

Still as good as last time I had it—about 2 years ago. This was a 2006 though. Great bottle and still has time to cellar. Fruit and luscious mouth feel, well integrated tannins and Lingering finish.

Lighter than matrona, but still bold and pairs with fatty steak

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, black currant (cassis), burnt, medium toast, oak and vanilla. It tastes like black pepper, vanilla, plum, black currant (cassis) and blackberry. The body is full. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity. Well integrated tannins, and long lingering finish. Happy to drink again. Decanted over 1 hour

Inky color in the glass, nose of dark berry fruit, more of the same on the palate, smooth but one dimensional, intense cabernet but slightly simple, medium body and medium finish, Drink up in my opinion.

Production of this wine was 500 cases. It is made up of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The Cab Sauv comes from their hillside vineyards. It is deeply colored, with notes of cassis, black currants, violets, blue fruit and black cherries. It is full-bodied, with approachable tannins and loads of dark fruit and spicy toasty oak flavors. The finish is long and driven by dark fruit and velvety tannins. $80. 93+ pts.
