By the glass at the BA Lounge LHR. Sort of freshly opened. Very much the new world Pinot , juicy, ripe, spicy and sweet soft burnt edge too. Not our style. 88

This is very, very good! Dark color, exceptional nose with lots of black currant, oak, cigar box, and blackberry. A little soft on the palate, but lashings of dark fruit, acidity, and mild tannins. Smooth finish. I think this may continue to improve for a couple of years. Really liked this. Would buy again, and highly recommend.

막잔에 아주 조금만 먹어서 느낌이 없으나, 2만원대에 사면 괜찮다. 가성비있음. 중간이상은 간다 오크향 약간 있음

Kendall Jackson (Dan Murphy's, Lane Cove) : tending to cherry, black rather than red berry backed by sweet spice, a touch of earth, forest floor here as a well. Juicy, a little fruit sweetness but the fruit is a touch non-delineated, textured grip is slightly drying, alcohol warmth on the finish. Nose nicer than the palate.

Kendall Jackson (Dan Murphy's, Lane Cove) : Ripe, slightly concentrated blackcurrant, that is more compote than jam, married to a very slight pyrazine underpin. Juicy, medium plus intensity acidity, super chewy, grippy tannins are massively persistent though quite silky textured, the blackcurrant pyrazine follow this, slight alcohol warmth intrudes slightly on the finish. Okay.

(15/20) Well-made, rich and peppery style Pinot Noir. Different plots vinified and aged separately, 7 months, 94% in French oak barrels (21% new) Medium+ intense aromas of red cherry, raspberry, cranberry, rose hip, vanilla, milk chocolate, cold coffee, wet leaves, black pepper, smoke, flint. Dry wine, high acidity, medium- and supple tannins, light body, medium+ flavour intensity, medium+ length finish. 14,5% ABV - Pinot Noir tasting @ Jan de Wijnman

Light floral nose. Nice entry, well balanced, medium bodied deep plum and dark fruit, touch of acid, bit of chocolate, concentrated with just enough tannin to add interest and saturated mouthfeel. I really enjoy the natural taste unblemished by artificial wood and reduction so common to Cali Cabs at this price point.

Bright and juicy, with fleshy notes of dark fruit, currants, licorice and fresh herbs. It shows youthful grip but it is so balanced that it is already drinking splendidly, especially for its level.

Not a remarkable QPR wine, but not offensive. Pale ruby in the glass with fresh red and blue fruits on the nose. A little bit of bite from presumed “efficient” oak aging. Palate is a bit sharp/harsh with medicinal cherry. Balance is a bit disjointed. Medium finish. This is not a bad wine for how mass produced it is. For a few more dollars, I’d recommend tracking down a bottle of Rodney Strong, Jadot, or Au Bon Climat. Though this …

Keeping today’s tastings within the same family - tasted side-by-side with a 2019 La Crema Monterey County PN. Medium purple-garnet in color. Nose of vanilla, cedar, red currant, and assorted red fruits. Medium-light bodied, the correct pinot acidity, and focused. Palate of red cherries, red currants, and a bit of green herbs. Tannins are smooth and drying. Finish is short with sharp tart fruits, black pepper, saline, and slate. This is exactly what I expect from a KJ PN. Side …

wondering if fires effected this vintage. definite wood, smokiness on the front end. might try another vintage year. day 2. the strong smokiness disappeared. this is somewhat austere. not my favorite style. pass. at least on this vintage year.

Nose is quite shy, cassis, toasty spices, licorice and seasoned cedar filling the base note. Palate is soft, ripe blue fruits with fresh acidity and gentle tannins, just some bitter tannins in the smooth finish. Medium-bodied. Somewhat too reserved for it to be interesting.

Retail $15. I have tasted this wine countless times, over several vintages and it is amazingly consistent. Yes, it is pretty fruity, and yes, it is produced by one of the largest wine conglomerations in the country, but neither of those facts make it a *bad* wine. In fact, I have tasted other vintages of this blind with scores of other American Pinots, and it *always* holds its own. Would I buy it? Probably not given my Pinot-snob status, but... …

Obviously if you are drinking a young 2019 you are not expecting too much but expecting nothing and getting less is even worse. Just terrible like spicy grape juice. No structure and an acidic mess of flavors all burned together and what could only be described as undrinkable.

Nice, light drinking PN. With so many PNs heading into the big and bold catagory, it's nice to find some still on the Burgundy style. It's satisfactory, but nothing special.
