Concha Y Toro Trio Reserva Cabernet Sauv. Cabernet Franc Shiraz

Tasted with four other wines at our monthly wine tasting group. The hit of the evening. Absolutely in its prime. Great nose and nice long finish.

Interesting and sad to see so many flawed bottles of this vintage. I had the same thing happen last time I tried this vintage. Thankfully, it did not happen on this bottle! This is very enjoyable right now. Great black and red fruits, mild tannin and well balanced. Paired with a Wagyu ribeye and it was perfect. Still some years ahead but reaching its peak now IMO.

Drank with friends following a 60 minute decant. Dark ruby with minimal sediment, this wine is mature Packed with dark and black fruit: Plum, cherry, date, raspberry. A bargain considering the price Still some noticeable tannic grip but this is fading. Easily another 10+ years of thrilling enjoyment. If a date, this was a 30 year old Latina lingerie model who titillates and thrills all evening.

In a great place right now, and maybe my favorite vintage of Don yet. Notes of black cherry, black currant, dark chocolate, smoked brisket, and oak are seamlessly integrated, with a satiny mouthfeel throughout. Terrific structure too, and while the tannins felt somewhat resolved, this still has plenty of life left.

Elegant showing blackberry, forrest floor, tart cherry and blueberry. Medium to full bodied, low to medium acidity and polished tannins. A little disappointed, missing the humph. Drinking alongside a 2014 Canon La Gaffelière which is more complex, bold and refined. NI:4, FI:22, FC:8, B:4, L:4

On the nose: Red berries, cedar tree, and pepper. On the palate: medium body, fresh fruit, oak, leather, and pleasant acidity. Overall, well balanced and easily enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon blend; but, lack of complexity and depth. I will choose an enrty level GCC Bordeaux or a good Chianti Classico Gran Selezione over this Chilean red. Paired with Peking duck at a Chinese restaurant in Seoul.

A good expression of Boudreaux clean mainly Cabernet. Lots of mineral character graphite and iron. Black currant, black cherry and slight oak. I expected a bit more but still a high quality wine just maybe not a great vintage. 91 points.

Color: Inky Purple Nose: Floral, Slightly Coiled, and Dark Fruit Taste: BlackBerry and some Plums, but very short finish with medium acidity; underwhelming but slightly uncoiled with time. Comp’s: Had this wine with Italian food as a PnP, that I believe was not stored the best since it was quite acidic and would expect more. Very much has the makings to be more better though!

Really looked forward to this bottle after 2 hours of decanting. Lacked complexity and the four of us were just not yearning for that next sip. Enjoyed other vintages of this legendary label much more. Will pull one from the cellar next year and try again.

Don Melchor 2016 On the nose, some hints of dark chocolate, blackberry, hints of vanilla. On the palate, dark chocolate, blackberry, black fruit, vanilla, some herbs and spice, quite smooth and delicious, some light sweetness. It was quite a pretty Bordeaux style wine.

Very big, very rich. Complex flavors, too. Currants, plum. Perhaps some smoked meat.

Pretty poor value. Not a ton going on, some good spice notes but not much otherwise, would want at least a little more fruit. Definitely would not buy again, especially at this price. Supposedly not a great vintage so might be willing to try a different vintage of this wine

Cork smelled of wet cardboard and so did the wine, tasted like the same. Returned to TW.

A little shy, some mint-tinged herbal fruit coming through. Good ripeness but a savoury element as well; lovely weight and balance, fresh and elegant and humming with energy. Very lovely tannins. The only alarm bell ringing is quite a bit of unintegrated alcohol on the finish.

I like this Bordeaux blend wine from Chile but had expect for more. For this money I prefere a Bordeaux any day.

Decanted for 3 hours. Subtle but very complex and evolving nose of blackberry jam, blueberry, black cherry, plum, raspberry, chocolate, leather and smoke. For a wine so young it is remarkably smooth and balanced. Full-bodied, firm tannins, high alcohol and high acidity. Flavours of blueberry, blackberry, plum and chocolate. This will only improve with time but drinking beautifully right now.

Has all the right stuff. Well balanced and full bodied. Ready to drink now or hold for up to 10 years.

Floral nose (violets?). Palate is dark fruit, maybe stewed, a little sour. Finish is sour and too long. No oak, mild tannin.
